I'm going to be flying out to England a week from today.

Our plane leaves on the 3rd at 11am and we arrive in London at 6am the same day. I'm going to be jet-lagged as fuck. I'm really not looking forward to that part. Other than that, it all sounds as if it will be really good.

We're mainly going over there to visit family. We're also going to head over to see Stonehenge, visit Bath, go to a castle with a maze (my dad and I have always wanted to go in a huge maze, but neither of us ever have) and I'm going to play some old flutes at Allflutesplus. I'm also going to my great-aunt's book launch. From what I gather it should be a fairly posh event.

The main reason we're going over there is to see my nephew. My dad just loves spending time with him, but we've only ever seen him a few times when my brother brought his family over about a year ago. He's currently 3 and incredibly cute. He's very talkative and full of energy in a typical 3 year old manner.

This will also mark my first trip overseas, which is fairly cool too.

If you can, try to sleep a little on the plane, then stay awake the whole day when you arrive. If you have any more than a short nap after arriving, you'll bugger up your sleep cycle and will be fucked for days. But if you can stay awake until, say, 9pm and then have a full night's sleep, you'll be fine. That's what I did the first time I went to England (which is also the only time I came direct from Australia).

Actually, nothing we're doing is really set in stone. I just can't imagine my parents being particularly happy about me meeting any of you guys.

Hell, I was 25 when Oddtour 3a occurred and I still got raised eyebrows from my family.

"Seeya, I'm going out to meet up with some friends"
"Who the heck do you know in London?"

Stonehenge is rubbish, by the way. It's just some rocks and you can't even get close. Any sense of natural peace is blown out of the water by the mobs of people. Sorry about that.

Apart from that, your trip sounds pretty good. I love mazes myself. Especially ones with a tower in the middle.
