Things be looking up!

Posted 06-18-2011 at 04:05 AM by Jordan
So I no longer feel like the morbid fuck I did in my last blogs. Life's feeling pretty good at the moment, I do feel pretty foolish for acting how I have for the past couple of months. Just took me a while to realise I need to move the fuck on from everything.

Anyway, that wasn't the MAIN reason I wanted to make a blog... I need some advice and I figure people on here might have the best knowledge for it. So it's coming up to the time where I need to start applying for university (very early, my school is being very weird about it) I'm looking to send off forms and everything in September so I get more chance of places etc. I'm slightly worried about my personal statement, because, frankly, I haven't done anything worth noting down, I've never been that interested in extra-curricular activities over the years. My head of year advised us to start doing things over the Summer that can go in our personal statement and will apply to our desired course. I'm looking to do a course in Game Design, and I wondered if anyone on here knew of things I could start over the Summer that could be noted in my personal statement? I apologise for the TL DR, and would appreciate some feedback, please?

You might want to learn a programming language, I suggest C++. Perhaps you might want to make a few games to show in a portfolio as well. If you like, PM me and I might be able to help since I have researched a lot about it now that I'm working with games designers.

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. For your personal statement, I'd say go with either programming or a trade (like welding, which is fun).

On a side note, check out the first result here.

Thanks a bunch, I'm gonna need as much information and tutorials as I can get if I want to learn some over Summer. Much appreciated!

I'd be careful of that tutorial, it's a little more long winded that it should be, I tried it before I got books.

I was referring to the link for Ontario Kindergarten that popped up, but you're welcome.
