Lovable Games 02 - Call of Duty: Zombies Mode

Last week I talked about Headquarters mode in Call of Duty games.
Just for today I’d like to talk about another popular mode in Call of Duty games which is Zombies mode.
In Zombies mode, all pretense of being a real gritty war-game go out of the window as you are fighting re-animated Nazi soldiers who shamble around with glowing eyes.
In terms of weapons, you have reliable SMGs and Rifles, you have Shotguns and Rocket Launchers, you also have powerful energy weapons such as the Ray Gun, Wunderwaffe and the Thundergun. There is a Mystery Box which will give you a gun picked at random from the available guns on each game.
You can also buy perks such as Speed Cola which make you reload faster or Juggernog which enables you to take more damage before being downed. You can upgrade a weapon at the Pack-a-Punch machine which will change bullets into lasers and give some other weapons secondary properties.
The first few rounds are a warm up, designed to get everyone used to the game. After round 4 however, things start getting tricky. You have the zombies that run which chase you all over the map, gas zombies that cause your vision to go blurry if you get too near their gas clouds and you have the hellhounds which will run up to you and bite you repeatedly, but are destroyed effectively by shotgun rounds.
You also have traps such as the lightning barrier, automatic turrets or fire pits. There is a teleporter on some maps which you can activate and use to teleport across the map to different areas.
My personal favourite map is Kino Der Toten which is reasonably big and well designed. As for weapons, I tend to stick with the upgraded AUG, Ray Gun, SPAS-12 or the M72 Anarchy Rocket Launcher.
Whether you play alone or with friends, it’s time to go zombie hunting!
Note: Anyone play Zombies mode much?
