Now that I've eaten something, being really, really tipsy has worn off quick. Maybe I should lay off the cider... Or go full force with vodka and cola so at least any drunk blogs that I post are entertaining, unlike how this one was.

Okay, I'll tell a mildly amusing* story about vodka and cola, and perhaps why you shouldn't drink that shit mixed together.

Back in 2008 I was in Leipzig with my GF I had at that time. We took part in the May Day protests against the Nazis - I got totally hammered on vodka and cola. At the end of the evening we took the tram home, I ended up being sick on a glass panel in the middle of Leipzig's main tram stop - It was never properly cleaned, so the stain on the glass was there for at least the remaining 3 months that I stayed there for. Be careful what you touch/lean against in public places!

Also, in Germany you can take your used drinks bottles back to any supermarket to get a bit of money back from them - I had a backpack with me so we collected as many bottles as we could. After being sick, I stood up - A couple of bottles fell out of the backpack and smashed on the platform behind me. My perception of reality was so far gone by then that I was convinced that someone was chucking bottles at us, until I was corrected by a passer-by. That was an odd feeling - But I'm not entirely sure why I remember it as well as I do.

I won't talk about the hangover afterwards.

Every year the neo-nazi groups march through the streets of Germany's cities around May day. And so people do a counter-marches and hold large festivals, both to celebrate May Day and also make a stand against the nazis. I attended one of these massive (5000 people+) festivals, where I got drunk. It was fun.

For the record, my first thought on reading that was much the same as DI's. But my second thought switched on my higher functions and I worked it out through the rigorous application of logic. Seeing as this is not the 1930's, ya know.
