Wait... are they saying that heterosexual paedophiles don't have sexual fantasies about their victims? And that that makes it okay?

I think what they're trying to say is that homosexual pedophiles are fundamentally different from hetero ones.

What they're trying to conclude from that is anyones guess.

Actually, rereading it, I think they're saying that whatever research they're reviewing said that paedophiles have deviant fantasies, but they're not sure whether it counted homosexuality as deviant in-and-of itself and seperate to the paedophilia. And (guessing from the tone of voice in my head as I read it) that this would, in turn, discredit the research.
