I've done this for my church for the Stations of The Cross for the last 5 years (getting more cynical of it each time). It's really, really easy.

Conventional light, yes. Programming the moving lights isn't as easy as you make it out to be.

Yes it is. I've had to run a giant-ass spotlight (like a surgeon, at this point), typical light board stuff, and even programming strobe lights and very simple maneuvering lights. It's easy if you're patient.

Yeah well, unfortunately you can't always be patient if you only have like 2 or 3 hours to program the table from scratch AND watch the dress rehearsal at the same time.

We ran into a slight problem during the building of the stage so we ran behind >_<.

You have an incredibly small theater.

It's an improvised stage in the back of the school's cafeteria. On days like this the entire thing gets emptied out and chairs are put in place.
