Vampire chicks have always been awesome. I'm talkin about the dudes.

Sure, he was inferior to Christopher Lee's Dracula, but it feels incomplete without him.

I don't know that being followed by two sequels counts as dying out.

I never watched the third, but I really disliked the second.

I managed to see them all on tv at some point. I'm pretty sure that the second one was the only one that I didn't hate.

The first Blade is at least watchable, if not only for the scene with the morbidly obese vampire that they burn to a crisp with their flashlights.

The second Blade was awesome.
Did it have romanticized, pussified, David Bowie vampires? No. And that's exactly why it was awesome. If you watch Blade expecting it to adhere to that template, then of course you're going to hate it.

The vampires were fucking mutated demonspawn and were genuinely intimidating. It was a fantasy/action movie, and it didn't try to be anything more than that. Del Toro hasn't disappointed me to date.
