Gundam is, in fact, very boring. I like robots, but I dislike talky, preachy teenagers, and pseudo-politics. So, yeah. It's not for me.

Because all Gundam series happen to be Gundam Wing.

Why can't the Western viewing public get over this one?

The fact is that Gundam has now reached the same level as Neon Genesis Evangelion and Naruto whereby people who have never seen it (Or only seen Gundam Wing) bash it for just being popular.

I've seen it. It wasn't to my liking. I don't mind other people liking it, though. It's better than watching iCarly.

I act as if nothing. I don't care enough. It isn't important to me. I saw some Gundam, didn't like it, and decided not to watch any more of it. I don't think I've missed anything important.

WoF, the problem with every clip you plastered there is that it's still boring. Gundam suits have no girth, making the fights just lack something. Even if they did it's not a consistent giant robot fight, it's just shots of them moving fast at each other, flashes, and then drawn out shots of the pilots. I've watched enough of the original series to dislike it, but admittedly I have not seen every single other series.

I'm really not that much into the whole robot thing (Although I really do want to spend a stupid amount of money on model kits right now), it's just that Gundam hits all the buttons with me.

Sorry if it seems like I'm being aggressive about it, that's not my intention.

Same here. I love the designs for a lot of the robots, but don't care for the story. It just seems too backwards for my liking.

The original? Totally, I could only really enjoy the last ten or so episodes of the original. The rest was far too dated. It kind of ruts itself in at about episode six and doesn't get out til about episode thirty or so.

I tried pretty much every Gundam series, and that's me being really open-minded too. I've watched twice the amount of Gundam these guys have and I still don't care for it.

I dunno. It seems like every other form of media that includes giant robots, even if it's essentially the same as Gundam, is just better than Gundam.

I do like the model sets though.

Gundam is pretty much a cornerstone of Japanese culture the same way that movies like The Godfather and Star Wars are inextractable from our culture. So what you're saying is you've got a higher developed sense of culture than the entire nation of Japan or the entire nation of Japan is so dumb they can't see that something which created genres and remained a centrepiece of storytelling for thirty years is the worst example of the entire mecha umbrella genre.

No, I'm saying I don't care for Gundam. I don't care how much prestige is wrapped around the Gundam series. I've watched them, I didn't like them, I've watched other mech animes and liked them vastly more. It has nothing to do with arrogance you whiney little turd, it's simply my opinion. Opinion is opinion. I'm sure at least a few of the mech shows I prefer to Gundam are considered to be much worse (especially since Gundam seems to be the golden fucking grail of every otaku's repertoire). I wasn't trying to seem arrogant, ignorant maybe, but not arrogant. I'm not part of that sub-culture, and there's a fuckload I don't know about Gundam. The point is, the Gundam I've seen, the shows, I didn't like them.

I prefer Cutey Honey to Gundam, and thats not even a mech anime.

A lot of people here seem to have a growing idea of me as some kind of otaku who won't shut up about Gundam, this is not the case. I mention Gundam without provacation very little. It kind of annoys me.
