Avatar Woes

Yeah, i had that trouble with this avatar (the one I have now, not the one I'll have tomorrow); I had to replace the background. Got one that worked on my third try.

If you're talking about the Wallace and Gromit penguin thingy; I'd suggest seeing if you can flip the 'photo' part of it horizontally, so it appears like he's looking at your posts.

But that's just me. I uploaded a new facebook profile pic yesterday and flipped it around several times before deciding which direction looked best.

I don't think the question was what image should he use for his avatar so much as what file format is best for it

So for your actual question, I'm not actually sure what format would work better... I'm guessing it has too many colours to still look good as a GIF?

Yeah, um... People suggesting avatars, thanks for the intest but please read the last bit of the blog post. I'm looking for a good low-filesize medium-quality image format since this .jpeg is too fuzzy, as is a .gif, and a .png is too big. Also, Nate, no I'm not talking about my profile picture. That's why I said 'avatar'.

I very nearly changed mine to another picture of me looking stupid. But i imagine joe's head would explode if i did.
