Is the "It really worked!" stating that bending wire in to rods of the same length worked, or the act of dowsing itself? Sorry, the subject I was teaching this last semester instilled in me a revulsion of grammatical ambiguity.

What were you dowsing for?

Not sure if I believe in dowsing. I've never seen it used by anyone with any merit, so I'm on the fence.

Sounds like classic confirmation bias. You need to do it where you don't know where there is water or whether there even is water, mark your results and then check with the water board or whichever authority knows to see how many were right.

You then need to perform a statistical analysis to confirm whether or not any positives can be put down to chance.
