I had an excellent trip to a woodwind shop in Oxford - got an Antigua tenor sax about £300 cheaper than the retail price. It's just something to play to myself - it's intermediate level, so it isn't the same standard as my Yanigasawa, but it has a very nice tone. An antique finish on it - looks very nice. Almost got the black one, but the lacquer would have dulled the tone a bit.

In related news, I got my nephew into John Coltrane and a bit of Bird, which is excellent.

They're re-pricing the new stock, so it's relatively new - the retail was £999, but they're increasing the price (I'm not sure by how much). You can see all the specifications here:

I'd recommend it, definitely. Not something I'd use live if I had a professional sax with me, but it could certainly pass just fine. Very nice for playing to yourself.
