I'm back, baby.
As some of you may have become vaguely aware (or not, given some of you guys' recent... activities) I haven't been here for a while. And now I am here. This is the self-evident scrap of information this blog is here to impart you with, and has done so, I believe, with some success already.
The reason for my absence? Unless I am lying (which I am not, but don't take my word for it) I have just moved. I didn't mention it before, but then, I wasn't particularly aware of the impending incident, nor the piles of boxes springing up around me, or all the heavy lifting I was subjected to. Up all those stairs...
I am now kneeling in the new living room at the coffee table (a nice little traditional Indian piece dating back to the early 21st century) tapping away on my laptop. The living room itself, and in fact the entire house, is situated on top of a well-stocked high street pharmacy (which is not conductive to the recovery of the drug problem I might acquire in a possible future). Already it is starting to feel like a big empty house, for it is intended to house my mother and her partner and the five offspring they collectively "own", myself included, who occasionally take up residence with them. The previous two-bedroom flat was fine when it was just the three of us (my side of the union), but not conductive to a seven person composite family. It so happens that my brother has gone of to Leicester (with my his 360) and the other adolescent hominids only infrequently turn up, so it's just me. Fortunately I am now within walking distance of a pair of my few geographically local friends (twins, good value), not that that never prevented one of them from walking several miles to my previous residence, rejecting all offers of alternative transport.
And today the Internet just turned on, and already the shakes, unusual perspiration and mood swings are diminishing.
How fair thee, friends of distant lands?
