Learning to use Sony Vegas

I never liked Sony Vegas much. Maybe it's improved since I last fiddled with it back in '07, but I just found it too alien when there are other, simpler editing packages capable of more or less the same things.

Are you trying to learn the effects or trying to actually edit with it? From what I know about Vegas it's meant for after editing mostly.

Why the fuck would you get something to learn the effects? With regards to Sony Vegas especially, unless you mean things of a rotoscoping nature.

Vegas is great. It's easy to use, and I have no idea why FG would find it alien considering most video editing programs are set up in the same way. Ultimately Final Cut and Adobe Premiere outshine all others though.

I use WMM for basic editing. Vegas is ONLY for effects.
