A Little Help PLZZZZ

Posted 06-24-2009 at 05:36 PM by Dixanadu
Okay, yes, I don't care if some of you think I'm a dick or whatever, but generally, I have to accept the fact you're all probably the most intelligent group of people I've spoken to, and as such, hopefully you can help me out on a little kibabble.

I've spoken to WoF about this...but, it'd be nice to hear as much as possible.

How the FUCK do you get over someone!? The longer I ignore her, the more I think of her. Honestly, I hate feeling like this, it's...just not me. I want to feel like me again.

So...hopefully some of you could offer me advice, if you've been in a similar situation.

I have two general types of experience in getting over people.

The first is to realize that it’s not going to happen. But not just to correctly work this out, to actually experience it. As in rejection. The harsher, the easier it is to get over that person, in my experience. I don’t really recommend this, as it can jeapordize friendship and the chance of friendship to come.

The second way is just time. I don’t know how long you’ve given yourself. It has taken me months before, but more time gives more chance of realizing how unfulfilling it would be to satisfy your earlier wishes. The trouble with this is that it takes time. Sometimes years.

I have no recommendations, I can only tell you my own experience (in a broad, non-case-specific way).

You attend the funeral, you bid the dead farewell. You grieve. Then you continue with your life. And at times the fact of her absence will hit you like a blow to the chest, and you will weep. But this will happen less and less as time goes on. She is dead. You are alive. So live.
Adjust it to fit situation.

If you don't resolve it, time will. I've never really been in a deep enough relationship to know how bad the aftermath of a breakup can be, but with all grief and melancholy, it will pass with time. You're young. You'll meet new people. Chances are she wasn't the best you'll ever meet.

Lobotomisation. there's nothing like getting over a past love than by removing a piece of your brain.

If you have anything to reconcile do it in the most non-intrusive way possible. Loose ends have a bad habit of tying themelves way the fuck back up.

I don't believe that there is a real answer to that question. Losing love hurts. It wouldn't be important if it didn't hurt to lose it.

BM approves the Eternal Sunshine approach, I see.

And from my experience, the answer is: You don't. But maybe that's just cause I'm a fucking sentimental cunt.

Grow a pair...haha. Made me laugh, and you're generally right. How I view myself as this stone cold bastard child now sitting here sobbing over a girl, it's time I just went...em...super saiyan and fucked shit up?

But thank you all.
