While I Was Out

A few things happened in my life while I was missing from the forums. For starters, my house was broken into. In broad daylight. On a Sunday. On mother's day. While April was sleeping in the back room. I assume that it was just some kid, who maybe wanted to mow our lawn, and noticed that the front door was unlocked, because all they took was Abbey's limited edition Pokemon ds that I had gotten her for her birthday.

Abbey and I had walked up to the corner store to buy some eggs and construction paper so that we could make April a card and some breakfast. When we left, her ds was sitting on the living room table, which is right in front of the front door. The window was open and I forgot to lock the door when I left. When we came back it was gone.

Abbey was very upset about this. She didn't throw any fits, or rage around the place, but she just looked at me with this hurt and violated expression on her face, as little tears streamed down her cheeks. Fucking broke my heart. Sooooo..... I went and bought her a dsi.
