Last September I had seen a Children of Bodom concert. It was pretty kick ass. Afterwards, I mutilated my body by getting a few facial piercings: 2 eyebrow, 1 lip.

Okay, there's nothing too bad about that. Hardly hurt getting them. They healed up almost immediately and I had yet to have a problem... until about a week ago. Some dipshit wasn't paying attention to where they were going during passing period.

I look up momentarily, only to see a body headed staight for me. Obviously I had no time to react or I would have said something/pushed him to the side to avoid being hit. However, instead of just running into me, he jerked towards me, and his binder smashed my face into the wall. The side with the piercings. One of the balls on eyebrow piercing closest to the wall fell off, and the other one was just a little torn. Doesn't sound very bad, hut it still hurt.

My first reaction to this is to turn and hit. So I did. Unfortunately, a hall monitor saw me and ran after me. The guy turned to me and apologized for smashing me into the wall. Just as I was about to say, "It's fine, just watch out next time", the hall monitor fucking tackles me to the ground, ripping out my lip ring, which then proceded to fall through a drain. Now, my eyebrow is drenched in blood, as well as my lip, and to make everything even better, the wire in my braces broke and ripped me a new one.

At this point I'm just glad I have high pain tolerance. The hall monitor rips me off the floor and starts yelling at me for fighting. The other guy had already fled "the scene of the crime". I tell her (the hall monitor) that it was just a small issue that had already been resolved. She just kept yelling and yelling and yelling. Then, I interupt her and tell her that I really need to get to class. Her response was: "WELL, YOU SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT BEFORE YOU ATTEMPTED TO BEAT UP THAT POOR DEFENSELESS BOY."

I began laughing and walked away from her, only for her to snag my wrist and drag me to the dean's office. Now, I had to explain the whole situation to the dean's, all in the meantime wiping off the blood dripping from my mouth. My eyebrow had already clotted up, so no big deal. What pissed me off the most was the fact that I was injured, and no body even thought twice about sending me to the nurses office. In the end, I was RPC'd, and I have a nice little infection in my eyebrow now. It ended up keloiding, and now it looks horrendous. FML.

On the upside, I wasn't expelled.

	A militant and oppressive constabulary prioritizing brutality and conformity over protection and independence. If this hasn’t already been developed into a metophory film, it should be. An arsewipe student on a power trip is one thing, but that you spoke to a member of staff who expressed no interest in your obvious injuries is really shocking. You should definitely submit a format complaint.

That a staff member tackled me to the floor and caused me one of those obvious injuries is shocking in itself. I reported her, but she defended her self by feeding some bullshit "They were wreckless and attempted to attack me" story that kept her ass out of hot water.

Now, if only I could get a higher authority to believe it wasn't a fight that cause the injuries and have them actually do something about it.

	It bugs me that people like her are allowe dto have authority over others... But there's nothing you can do.. except carry a hidden microphone on you all the time...

	That sucks about your face. Secondary schools don't know what the fuck they're doing when it comes to resolving conflicts, among many other things.

	Whilst I don't understand why people are mad enough to get piercings, I can sympathize. If you had done something wrong, I could not, but it just seems that you've not done anything out of order. Folk should think before they act.

Folk should think before they act.

By that logic, people should say ‘It's fine, just watch out next time’ before hitting someone. It would possibly save time in making the conflict resolution clear to the tackle-happy monitor.

I thought that Monitors in general were students, they are at my school.

Never had hall monitors in any school I’ve been to. I thought it was mainly a U.S. custom. We had prefects, but they were final year students of the Sixth Form.

	I was one of only two out of about twelve not to be made either a school prefect or a house prefect. I was not feared. Respect, I could not ascertain one way or another, or at this point in life, care much either way. Yay for being at the bottom of all chains of command.

	Well, at my school, they think it's safer to have adults be the hall monitors and not students, so the students won't let others pass by without warning them or getting lazy and not paying attention. I don't get that though, a lot of adults do that as well.

	I was a prefect but it was pointless as prefects didnt do ANYTHING at my school, except waste time by having to attend meetings with teachers about "ways to improve student life" where they ignored all our suggestions anyway. Sucks what happened, Slog Bait. I agree that you should file a complaint, don't take that sort of crap.
