Scrabanian Temple - Secret Area #2

Hello!

I'm fourteen years old and I'm Polish, so my English may not be very good Okay, it's a problem. I got stucked in Scrabanian Temple. Here's the screen...

What I have to do? Walkthroughs says "fall down and climb up on the platform". But when I falling down, I'm dying... And walkthroughs says I will survive! Perhaps I'm doing something bad? Perhaps I don't understanding walktrough? And maybe this is a bug, an error? Help me - I'm stucked here few days. I can't find any help on polish sites, so I've got registered on an official forum, because this is the place, where somebody can help me.

Hm, interesting problem. Maybe you should have a continous rolling cycle. You should land, hanging on the ledge.

No, I've tried this. It's not doing anything. I falling down on that same place, and I'm dying here But thanx. Any other sugestions?

How did you die exactly? Does the Scrab kill you? Or do you die of landing inproperly?

This is an excerpt from Sinjin's Abe's Oddysee Solve, detailing the area you're talking about. As I'm not certain where you are up to in that point in time, I can only suggest you restart and follow the following:

Get the Mudokon ready to follow you then wait for the Scrab to go to the right side of the screen before you drop down and roll to the left and into the next room. You'll fall but you can pull up before the Scrab realizes he just missed a free lunch. Jump and hang on the ledge above and note the mine circling on this screen. Timing is critical as you only have about a one second margin for error. As the mine is moving down and to the left pull up and jump and pull up once more. Chant to open the portal and rescue Mudokon 46 who should have followed you to this screen and probably gone back to scrubbing floors by now.

Time the mine again and quickly drop down both ledges and chant to open your escape portal. Wait for the Scrab to reach the right edge of the screen and when his back is turned drop down and run left jumping into the portal. Back outside, make your way to the right and down to the ledge above the door. Wait for the Scrab to leave the screen then quickly drop down and enter the door and return to the hub before the Scrab returns.

And here's the problem! I'm falling, but I can't pull up, becouse I'm dying! I'm falling too near, I'm landing on a floor, not on a ledge! And it kills me...

Couldn't you hold down the <- button while you're still rolling off the edge? That always works for me.

I think if you do a running jump then you catch on the other side.

No, it's impossible. Abe can't jumping from the tube, at first he must stay up. I've tried this few days ago...

Are you rolling continually from the first screen through to the second screen where you roll off the ledge and fall?

Perhaps Abe needs the momentum?

Are you holding the down button at all when you are falling? Or even when you're supposed to grab onto the ledge?

What exactly is happening? Are you EVER grabbing the ledge? Or do you miss it?

I see my languistic capacity must be worst than I think

I've tried holding the down button when I falling and supposed to grab on the ledge. I've tried to pulling up the edge of the tube by holding: down and right, down and left, up and right, up and left, left and right, up and down, everything at once and so on And it gives me nothing. I've tried to jump from a tube - but it's impossible. I'm falling too near. I would landing by grabing the ledge, but I'm landing too near, on the floor, near to Scrab. And I'm dying

I can't understand why you're not making it. Abe should be rolling out of the tube and catching onto the ledge. If you're landing away from the ledge... Something's up with your game

Ugh... Well, if I haven't any alternative... I need a save to the beginning place of Scrabanian Nest with saved all Mudokons, but I wasn't in Paramonia. Or I need a cheat, for an immortal or transport me to the beginning place of Scrabanian Nest with saved all Mudokons, excluded Paramonia

Um, sorry to interupp, but what exactly are you doing when you're falling? It's impossible to land in that position when falling. Are you doing anything to effect this?

No! I do nothing! This is Abe's position when he landing. He falling, landing on the floor and dying. I don't know, why you say it's impossible to land in that position? It's a normal position when Abe die.

For saving Mud: Say hello, follow me, climb down, running roll left off screen and keep going until you fall, you should be hanging from a top ledge one screen down. pull up otherwise the Scrab will pull you down which is probably happening to you.

For killing: make mud walk off ledge by standing at edge and repeating follow me, then same as above.

I just whipped out AO, and played through the area you're talking about. Abe definitely hangs onto the ledge when you roll out and down into that particular screen.

If in your game Abe ain't doing that, then there is definitely a problem with your game.

So what cheat should I use if I want to save all 99 Muds an see the "special something" on the end?

Nothing. There is no cheat that does that. You will have to get that certain part from someone else.

Damn... So who has a save with a beginning place in Scrabanian Nest and saved all Mudokons excluded Paramonia? If no one has, I have to play Gothic II: Night of the Raven again Or save only 98 Mudokons and see the special ending by the cheat :/

Do you have the PlayStatio or PC version of the game? There may be something wrong with the PC

On PlayStation, to view all Movies, hold R1 on the main screen and press up, left, right, square, circle, triangle, square, right, left, up, right. This lets you choose all the FMVs (including the prize one), but for the special message see the oddipus complex website (who has that address?) to see a screen shot.

Incidently, to get Abe to fart green gas in AO like in AE, hold R1 during play and press up, left, right, square, circle, X. These all work on the PAL PlaySation, but I'm not sure about the others...
