Save Yourselves! Convert now...

I thought I'd show you the amazing religious belief system of the pastafarians and also ask you your opinions on the matter of intelligent design being taught in schools as fact. Discuss.

Although I'm Christian, I'm strongly against anything like this being taught in school as fact and whatnot.

And wheehee, that site was pretty amusing, but also rather thought provoking because I tried imagining it being someone's true opinions and how annoyed I'd be by their trying to make this tought in schools so that I can better understand what it must feel like to others who don't believe in any sort of religious creation stuffs.

Oh, and I'm also taking this moment to say a quote from the crazy preacher guy I when visiting my grandfather's church today: "America needs God more than God needs America."

Hah, I saw this a long while back, in fact I wrote a short letter to a few of the board members about it for shits and giggles. Did anyone notice that CAD mentioned a flying spaghetti monster a few comics ago, I wonder if the two are related

(so tired, so my posts might not be coherent)

Oh yeah!

Good call. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was a relation there. Heh. Cool.

Background'd.

All hail Flying Spaghetti Monster. His will be done.

But seriously, I'm totally going to use one of those desktops. That letter was hilarious; definitely one of those rare instances when stupid shit like this warrants its own thread.

This thread is turning into the one that was reconstructed to a Mencia Temple. I can't even remember its original name!

Naturally, I think it is utterly dispicable, if going to school is compulsory. Which it is.

Looks like a really screwed up circumcision.

But seriously, schools are meant to teach, not to preach!

I've had the "Touched by His Noodly Appendage" one since I last posted. More than satisfactory, to say the least.

Half of me says "that should've been put into Stupid Shit Rich and you know it", and the other half says "hmm, it's an interesting point".

Christianity has this awful way of imposing itself as though it were proven fact, when in reality it's no more viable than the cult of the pasta monster or whatever. You could worship your socks if you wanted, and praise the cheesy smelling god spirt who resides in them - at the end of the day no other religion could ever tell you that it deserves less attention than their beliefs.

... says someone who doesn't get the joke*.

One of the main reasons why fundamentalists crow against homosexuality is that the old testament describes a man laying down with another man as with a woman as an abomination.

But, this website and many free-thinking individuals (including myself previously on this forum) reply "But the bible also describes eating fish without scales and fins as abominations also! So tell me Reverend, when did you last eat shrimp, shark or lobster? Aaaaaaagh! Abomination!" with much finger pointing and waving of hands.

Thus it is a deep and meaningful theological discussion rather than something to be mocked.

On the other hand, my grammar and sentence structure in this post may be mocked at length.

That was just sick.

:
I knew others who left homosexuality behind, so I knew I could, too. I had a hunger for a better relationship with God but was frustrated with Him. So, one day I asked God, "Why can't I be happy? Why can't a man meet my needs?" Then it was like, God-to-Alan: "Listen up...man wasn't created to meet another man's need, only God can do that." You know, I knew God loved me, even though I kept going back to the bars. He may not have liked what I was doing, but He still loved me. That's when I realized His commitment to me was what I had been looking for in everyone else, and that He had been there waiting all along for me to turn to Him. That's how I was able to walk away, and not want to ever go back again...God changed my desire. I want so much for others to know they can come out of homosexuality if they want to...to believe that they can. It's important that theyknow God loves them. That's the very first step.
So now they're saying God is gay too? I just don't see how someones sexuality can be swayed so easily.

FSM is pretty cool. I first heard of him on Fark, and now he's a bit of a cliche there. I wish it wasn't blocked at school, otherwise I'd get the Flying Spaghetti Monster card from Magic:The Farkening.
