OSW doesn't work on my xbox

I bought Strangers Wrath on friday and I waited for the evening to play on it. I put the game into the console, waited a few seconds, then BAM "Your Xbox can't recognize this disc. Make sure it's an Xbox game, DVD movie, or audio CD. Also check to see if the disc is dirty or damaged. " WHAT? So I tried it again, the same thing happened, "what's happening" tried it again and again and again. Nooooooooooooooooo.

I waited till the next morning to go back into town to exchange it for another one. When I got back with a new one, exactly the same thing happened over and over again. So went back into town to exchange it for another one. But while I was in the shop I asked if they could test the game for me, so the guy went downstairs to test it one their Xbox and came back up and said that it was working fine, and just to rub it in he said that the video is awesome. He gave me a new one anyway and said that if it doesn't work this time I should E-mail Microsoft. Got back home, then guess what happens. IT DOESN'T BLOODY WORK.

So now I'm going to E-mail Microsoft and ask them what the hells up with their machines.

Unlucky. Some games don't work on my X-Box. No matter what disc I use. If MS can't help then th only alternative, is to play it on another X-Box. I played my bad games on my nephew's and they worked fine, on his.

that happend also ,
what i did :
*Cleaning the disk extremely carefuly on a T-shirt or something like that.
*Inserted the disk and waited for 30 seconds.
And then i was able to play.

otherwise you might have to just bring it back to the shop and hope you can get a new one.

hope for you it will work

I always get dirty disk errors every time I put the game in, but after restarting my Xbox a few times, it works. I really hate this old Thompson drive, you can't even copy burned cd's onto the Xbox.

Not all American machines are crappy, just things from Microsoft and unlisted vaccuum cleaner comanies. And of course OSW is an american game, it's manufactured here.

Liek people have said, try "worshing" the disk.

No Dipstikk, you Dipstick ( ) . If a game is formatted as American then it won't work on European consoles. European formats don't work on American consoles either.

It's obviously not the disc, considering it worked fine on the retailer's Xbox. The problem resides with his console. I'm thinking he might have an old Xbox with the crappy Thomson drive.

Well I bought my Xbox the day it came out over here so it's like three years old.

I'm now actually thinking of trying to sell this one and buying a brand new one, maybe one of those silver see through ones. They only cost summing like £99.99, I'm going to sell a few of my other games like Sonic Heroes, Driver 3, and Worms 3D. I'll also sell my DVD port and controls.

Would anyone like to take a guess at how much all of those would cost. Also, should I sell them on e-bay or in a shop?

My arse, they do. A fortnight ago I bought call of duty for 40 pound. 5 days later I wanted to give it back, and they offered me 17 pounds for it. Shocking isn't it? You'e better off with Ebay Nath. These game shops rip you off, when it comes to games.

Cyber-Slig, what did you expect, the full 40 pounds back? You should've asked them how much they'd offer you for it, and go try other shops too, for example Gamestation. They offer the price they're told to offer you for it, its not their personal judgement. I think your idea of "rip off" is very different to mine

I recommend Gamestation.

As for the XBox thing, just keep cleaning it and trying it.. Maybe the lens is a bit mucky? I'm not sure.

Game is reknowned for being rather stingy when it comes to paying for games. It makes sense I suppose; most people use them and they want to make a profit on a used game, but God, it can be annoying. Gamestation is certainly better.

You're never really going to get too much back when you sell a game back to a game store. That's cause it's been used and that. Even if it has only been used a few times. Over here we only have EB and they offer a set price or a discount on another game for buying games from you [at least that's what it was last time I checked, might have changed now]. When they do that, they have to factor in that some people are going to try to sell games that may be a bit scratched and that, while other people might bring in a game that is in excellent condition.

The only game that won't work on my Xbox is a second hand copy of Tony Hawk 2 which I got for my brother when I was in the US. It only cost $10, so it's not really a big deal. Plus it would have been hard for me to return it anyways.

Abe Babe...
