There is no such thing as Mudoncho!

evidence in the Alf's rehab and tea there is no such thing as the Mudoncho vaults. I chuckled when I saw this hehe Alcar I guess the forums is becoming a coup.

Q: *Hey Alf, I have a query regarding something in Munch's Oddysee. In the Brewery To Be region, there stands a lone windmill. Found on the outside walls on the windmill are a red symbol. This symbol is neither the Mudanchee, nor the Mudomo symbol, yet it is designed in the same manner. Could you tell me what the symbol stands for, or whom it stands for (is it possibly the Mudancho symbol)? Thankyou, Alcar...

Alf: *Alcar! You're killin' me man! Is this a coup? Are you forumers messin' wit my mind? I hearby decree that from this moment forward, none in my Rehab shall speak of the imposter vault known as Mudoncho! As for the symbol, it is a graphic representation of a Scrab, end of story! Mudancho! Puhleaz.

There is a Mudoncho I'm sure, Alf's just playing dumb-smartass (wow, a creative name and oxy-moron in one!).

I always thought that "Mudoncho" was someone getting confused between "Mundanchee" and "Mudomo". "Mudoncho" sounds so similar to those two that I doubt that OWI actually planned to use the name.

There was actually substantial evidence supporting the idea that it was planned...do a forum search on Mudoncho. It's pretty interesting. I think.

Mudoncho was the Meech Temple or Vault as I understood. Maybe the idea was abandoned.

I did search and all I came up with was speculation based on the fact that there are 3 weirdos but only two tribes mentioned. Have you anything more concrete?

Alf was having a humourous go at me and the person above me, who also asked something about the Mudoncho Temple / Tribe. Alf has been denying the existence of the Mudoncho's for ages. Looking through my files, he even denied it when we had the OddChat with Alf, which was quite a while ago.

But, as it stands. It was Lorne Lanning himself that confirmed the Mudoncho Tribe's existence:

:
*Sapphire_8400*: will we see anything about a "mudancho" tribe in this game?
Lorne Lanning: It's possible. But not solidified.

Maybe they planned the tribe to be a part of AE. Being one of the vaults at Necrum. Or maybe it once was a Meech tribe and temple but that all disapeard when the meeches became extinct.

Ive heard Necrum Mines was the once Mudoncho valt that was completely occupied by the Magog and turned into the mines. But that was a theory that I was going by.

that can't be right, Necrum Burial ground (which the magog cartel was mining) was a general place where muds would take their dead. Not just of one tribe.

I'm nearly sure the Mudoncho was planned...
I tought Lorne talked about somewhere between AO's and AE's release
it's the Mudokon lost tribe, a little more mystery in the world of Odd

Well, we know Meeches are going to make an apperance in Oddworld sometime. They have to. Maybe the mystery of Mudoncho will be rested when that time comes.

We were never told that. I mean if the Mudomo and Mudanchee tribes had their own specific burial grounds, why would there be a 'general purpose' burial ground as well? I think PA's theory is a good one. I always wondered what was the significance of the location of the mine (particularly as Abe enters the mine from the desert but leaves into a rainforest).

Although we all assume Meeches will turn up sometime, My vibe is that they will be intentionally kept a secret. Like OWI used a bit of misdirection by talking about them just to confuse us (like the whole 'character that you overlook coming back to be more important' thing; which we normally assume to be Molluck)

Well the rainforest is all apart the region of Necrum. The mines are in a Mountain of some sort and surrounding the mountain is the Necrum rainforest.

Just like you have this huge mountain in the middle of the desert and there are these lush valleys that surround the mountain and on the one mountain. We are talking about a huge enormous region. The mines were in the mountain and the valts were seperate smaller ridges or mountains that are in the lush valleys of Necrum surrounding the mines.

My guess is maybe the Mines were once the Mudoncho Vault that was actually underground unlike Mudanchee and Mudomo. And that the Mudoncho is so ancient that everything from that culture has been destroyed by the Magog except for those Guardian fossels that Abe was blasted out of. And that it was the first Burial grounds where Meeches once thrived. I think Meeches lived underground and only hunted above ground when they were hungry. But I think they lived underground in a place like the mines which could be the mysterious Mudoncho.

The reason I think Meeches are underground creatures is because they don't have any eyes which is a clue.

The Mudokons have a rich history, much of which they currently aren't aware of. For example, they used to advise other species in the art of warfare, but this not-so ethical act is almost, if not entirely, unknown by modern Mudokon civilisation. Similarly, the Mudoncho Tribe could be beyond a memory nowadays.

Someone once claimed they spotted Meech rockart in Necrum Mines. They gave screen codes, but I never found anything. I'll dog them out when I find the time.

I doubt the Meeches lived underground - their physical form does not seem very apt for digging and borrowing...

Paramites are cave dwellers, and while they have facial fingers, I don't think they'd be all that useful for digging. PA might have meant they just made their natural habitat in already-formed caves, vaults and tunnels.

That would be awesome. I'd love to go exploring in caves and find a whole pack of Meeches hanging around. I'd shed many tears out of sheer happiness. Meeches are one of my favorite creatures on Oddworld. I just love the design.

LOL... I think we get to see a lot of things that where already introduced in AO... just like it says : characters that are first overlooked seem important later on.
Abe giving some background info on meeches in AO might be a hint, or just an intro to the Scrab and Paramite getting extinct story... anyway, I think meeches are not extinct yet... maybe around rupturefarms. But no way they are all troughout Oddworld! Oddworld is huge!

Ah but we saw them liveing underground aswell.

What I mean you have the kind whome live above and the kind whome are underground in these vast regions and caves of such. Like different breeds.

What would be cool is to find a lost world underground on Oddworld filled with wildlife that have been extinct in the world above where Meeches could be thriveing in this lost world. It would be like a world in a world. I am very intrested in what actually lies hidden in the deep underground of Oddworld. There has to be something. It would be cool if we can explore such underground oasises in future games. Underground settings have great potential even better than ociean and sea settings. I believe if there is still Meeches then as a theory I believe they are thriveing underground and just can no longer exist above ground. And maybe a few Meeches left their deep underground secret and have been caught by the Magog. But if there was a Mudoncho then I think it should be an underground secret like a lost world and the inhabitants that live there are the way they were during prehistoric times. Like Prehistoric Mudokons.

Mac, for Christ sake, stop with the completely pointless posts.

A lost underground realm makes sense: they discovered a pack of Meeches on a plateau once, did they not? Well, the rumour says they did. They could just be what's left of the Meech species after everything the Glukkons know about has been hunted to extinction. A burrowing creature/character sounds intriguing though. It'd be difficult to incorporate into gameplay, but it's a cool idea.

The trouble with discovering a whole load of lost things on Oddworld, like plateaux and underground worlds hidden away for millennia, is that we don't need such things. Oddworld is a world in itself, and so much of it is unexplored by us, getting fantastic Lost World-esque plot devices seems almost unimaginative.

Underground societies that the above-world is un-aware of has been used through classic literature all the way to weird tv shows. It would be so-so for Oddworld to do this, but I still like the cave exploring idea. Meeches are awesome.

there wouldn't be any point to see them later in the quintology
the point of meeches is that they are extinct, if owi makes an happy end about them, then they will miss the whole point
