"Sold to Morbon for $14.5k! Next item is... 10000 Scrab Cakes! Who'll start me at $23k?"

Here I am...finally. I apologise in advance if I don't participate very much. Had my first opening night over at the amateur theater today. (just had a minor speaking role but doing that and backstage at the same time is bloody tiring.)

Species: Glukkon
Budget: $50,000
Detail: A young Gluk wishing for what any other Glukkon would wish for: Profit! Although inexperienced in financial matters Gobrak's not one to spend wildly. Gobrak plan's to start up his own business and hopefully this auction will fit him with at least some of the tools he needs...

Gobrak was sitting silently, his assistant Slig standing beside him grasping the Bid tokens. His suitcase of money was resting on one of the chair legs.
Gobrak grimaced when he heard the price. Almost half his budget, it was too big a risk, Scrab cakes would sell, yes, they would sell well, they always do. However without somewhere to sell them, they would just rot.

Gobrak looked up at the auctioneer and shook his head

Morbon although very satisfied with his purchase of the grenades was in two minds about the Scrab Cakes. Yes they were hot sellers, but would they be hot sellers now? He listens out for what the others might be saying about the cakes.

Flace isn't very keen on Slogs and decides to sit this one out.

Tygrig did not need many slogs at SligStryke, he only needed a few and he thought the price was too much. He would run out of money fast if he did...

Gobrak's head lifted when he heard the word "facility" He wasn't much of a Slog kinda guy but a starting point is a starting point. He could always renovate it if he wanted too

Gobrak gave a nod to his Assistant Slig, who then raised his hand.

IC: "Please, only raise your hand if you're making a bid. It's confusing. $26k with Gobrak!", Bleezle takes out another piece of paper with a clipboard. "Ah, Jinko Slog Training Facility. Personally supplies Muttgard, Farza's Slog Army and Terty Farms. They have been training slogs there for 10 years and their success rate for slog taming goes up and up each year. If you buy this, you're guaranteed to make an investment so it's a great opportunity. So, $29k anyone?"

IC: All of a sudden, Ez snapped to attention. Slogs? Those would certainly be useful in the near future, he was sure. And he damn well was not going to let someone take them from him. Raising his hand in a very deliberate motion, he said in a perfectly mild voice, "I bid 28." Deciding it would be best not to daydream, he paid very close attention to this bid.

"Raise my hand?" Gobrak muttered in disgust. The nerve of the auctioneer saying that to a Gluk. Gobrak could either argue or let his pride take a hit (which is no easy thing for a Glukkon) and carry on, he chose the latter. Now he would have to -Odd forbid- stand up to place a bid! The thought angered him but you have to get dirty if you hope to stand a chance in business!

Gobrak stood up "$30K!" and sat back down hoping he doesn't regret this decision.

IC: Ez was just about to flatly say 32k, but then was stuck by the thought that it could easily spell the end of this auction for him. Hesitantly, Ez raised his hand and quite simply said "32," and then lowered his hand. 'I might be able to sell it off to someone, or just sell enough slogs to make at least some of this money back. You gotta spend money to make money!" he thought, trying to eradicate his doubts. 'What if that glukkon bids even more? I could really use this slog hut, he's not getting it. Wait a second... I'll just...' he thought as he silently slipped a small insect-like ceature down the glukkon's back. Almost giggling with content, he tried to keep a straight face.
OOC: For those who cannot tell, I have just sabotaged Gobrak, by slipping a bug down his neck, hopefully distracting him long enough.

Gobrak heard the high pitched voice of a vykker behind him bidding even higher. He wasn't about to lose a battle of money to a Vykker and he needed that facility.

Gobrak quickly stood up and yelled "Thirty FWAAAAAAAAH!" Some kind of slimy thing was squirming around in his suit! Gobrak started shaking and hopping around the hall, his assistant however just stood there baffled.
