Anyways, I've been playing Minecraft's survival multiplayer in a cool server. I've made a nice house out of pure wood (Not refined wood.) and a little basement-workshop-storageroom thing. I think online is fun now. It's pretty damn laggy though. Well, at least sometimes.

Just beat Crysis 2, it slowed down a bit towards the end, but I still contend that its one of the best FPS campaigns I've ever played. It was also one of the best I've played at showing an alien invasion. The ending was full of fuck though. Spoilers ahead.

I thought it was really cool fighting with the Cell at the end, because of the urgency of the invasion. Anyways, I dont know if Prophet is possessing Alcatraz or if Alcatraz was never alive in the first place or if Prophet is in the nanosuit and spoke for Alcatraz at the end. I just read Wikipedia and they said that Alcatraz takes up Prophets code name, but their VOs are so damn similar I cant tell.

Been playing No More Heroes again, waiting for No More Heroes: Paradise for PS3. I love the absurdity and fun action. And, I for one, like the stupid menial tasks for money.xP

It's a real gem, but it's annoying once you realise that it's just going to rehash 3 major bosses at you lots of times.

Fucking worth playing, though. I really should go through it again, but I don't have the time right now. FFVII, Rayman and Dragon Quest VIII are all higher on my list.

Dragon Quest VIII is a game that should be bad, but is just soooooo good.

I've been on/off playing it for the last year now.

The combat just works. It's the thing that keeps me coming back to it. It's also fun ransacking people's homes for Mini Medals. Exploring some of the fucking huge fucking castles is amusing, too. I spent at least half an our exploring the Argonian castle, and there aren't any monsters in there.

There are also good reasons to go back and explore earlier areas after you get the magic keys and more monster arena monsters spawning.

The objectives are a bit annoying, though. It's very: Go here. Get sent there. There requires some item. Walk a fucking long way to find the item. Do a quest for the owner of the item that involves a fight with a fucking huge monster.

I'm playing Fable II because I forgot I had it and I can't find Saints Row 2. Whenever I play games like these, I always try to be on the 'really good' end of the morality wheel, and I started that way with this one.. I like, bought every store (save for the blacksmith and jeweller) in Bowerstone and then reduced the prices 60%.

Then I realized that was really fucking boring, so I went out and murdered about 30 guards, sacrificed my wife to the Shadow Temple, doublecrossed all of my quest-givers, stole lots, spent about 6 hours grinding, and now I'm about 400 XP away from another health upgade.

I absolutely like this one more than the first Fable, likely because I actually 'get' it now. (When I played Fable 1 when I was 14 or 15 I was fucking terrible at it and could not keep myself interested.) Guns are simple, getting specific XP is easy and I'm sure Fable II is better. I just want to take advantage of this game then transfer everything to the next. Woo Lionhead, keep pumpin' this stuff out.

tl;dr Open world games with a moriality systems are best when you don't give a shit

The story is a lot more interesting than previous games, that's for sure. I just accidentally completed the game. How do you accidentally complete a game?

When the game, after becoming king, keeps skipping ahead a couple of days each time and then suddenly, when you're at 129 days left, skips all those days and throws you into the final fight without warning.

And here I was, doing my best to raise enough money to save everyone while doing the occasional kingly thing. Now everyone in Albion got slaughtered because I only had half a million gold in the treasury...

I hated fable 3. It seemed incredibly linear and constricting, given the series.

Fable 3 is Fable 2 with a few polished features and a new story. It's fun non the less, but sometimes I even hear audio from the previous game (the stuff villagers say is copied a lot, be it just lines or the complete audio).

The thing that irks me is that certain decisions as king are simply deemed good or bad. There is no middle ground while you'd expect a king to handle for the greater good, making the hard decisions for the good of the people. Yet when you do exactly that, you're labeled an evil tyrant, even if you eventually do save every single person in Albion.

It was also really really really STUPID that you actually had to get a bunch of allies, assemble an army and bombard half of Bowerstone to shit just to get to the castle and have your brother tell you that he didn't want to be king anyway. It would have saved a lot of money and lives if that seeing bitch would have just told him to step down so his Hero brother/sister could steer things in the right direction. But as usual she likes doing things the hard way.

Fable 3 was a great leap forward for story and characters, and art. Gameplay-wise it stumbled a bit, you still can't play as a pure wizard satisfyingly (though I like the weapons anyway) and the player costume customisation compared to Fable 2 dropped horribly. The weapon evolution feature is not really up to scratch (and too random to grow your own without infinite resetting), and it's doubly bogus that most of the interesting blades were parcelled off to release day DLC weapons only, removing them from the evolution pool entirely. The new augment system is fun (and annoying), but its crap that you can't customise them or put them on your own, and that the legendary weapons are all made like the hero weapons. I was expecting the ability to purchase basic weapons in shops and allow my heroic power to mutate them according to multiple morph channels. Alas.

Aurora was fucking awesome though. A few clear lines of inspiration but overall an entirely original culture, and the few wild lands over there are great fun, especially the music, the desert and the non-old kingdom ruins. Good to see those minion bastards from Fable 1 make a return. I would like to see a spinoff set entirely in Aurora, playing as an Auroran hero long before the Crawler.

The next game needs to answer a few questions, about the Old Kingdom, about Jack and the rest of his Court, the Void, Reaver, the Shadow Court and the Crawler. Jack, Crawler and the Shadows Court all seem like real Big Bads behind all of Albion's Ills, so I want to know what relationship they have/had with each other, whether they all originated in the Void and what other horrors may reside there.

And how many games will it be until we're wearing a trench coat and bowler hat, clearing hobbes out of air-raid shelters with fireballs, the bayonet of an M1 and an Enfield revolver?

I don't think there is any kind of ongoing story in Fable, except for maybe Theressa but we don't really know shit about her either, except that she was the Oakdale Hero's sister.

TBH I think they are making up factions and bad guys as they go, using the 'it's a fictional universe anyway' excuse. There isn't any sort of background on the crawler, which is something I would have really liked. I like my bad guys to be in the story for more than being the bad guy.

As some sort of Eldritch Abomination its motivations are likely beyond our comprehension, but I doubt its origins are.

Best villain twist since Halo's Flood, I reckon.

Hironobu Sakaguchi shouldn't have left Square, I think this game goes to show Final Fantasy wouldn't have gone downhill otherwise.

What he'd do is challenge people to a duel at the start of every round, and then be very good and win really hard. I happened to be his first target and lost pretty bad. (In my defense, I was focusing on micpsamming at the time). He did this a few more rounds and then I just farted some dumbass insult into my keyboard and he was gracious enough to not take it personally.

Funny thing, though. (Yes, this keeps going) I was on a public server today and encountered a group of rapscallions who were pretty much doing to same thing to each other, just barfin' out insults for an hour and a half. I realized the error of my ways somewhere around 45 minutes in.

Oh yeah, this too:http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=5199&p=1

If we were girls, we could get popular by doing anything:
rock band, jazz band,
karate, kendo, mahjong, cyborg, synchronized swimming...
On the other hand, high school boys are
useless outside battle and sports anime.
But they're recklessly trying to make a slice-of-life anime about us.
Ah, we are high school boys,
the miserable high school boys.
