Mad Elum?

I seem to recall (although it's been a while since I last played it) that in AO there was some way to get Elum mad at you, and if he got mad enough he'd kill you. Maybe my memories faulty, maybe's it's a glitch, maybe it's an easter egg or feature. Anybody know?

After blowing up the Slig, pulling the lever, getting to the top, and ringing the bell, I told Elum to wait and threw rocks but was too close away. I tried again, I was too far. Eventually I found a Goldylocksian distance with which to hit from, and threw. Despite going directly on Elum's head, it had no effect. I concluded that Elum is an in game object (or creature, if you prefer) that is unaffected by rocks. I then tried throwing a rock on him while riding him, but no such luck. Ditto with trying to slap him when he was riding. My ground attempts to slap had the same results as the rocks. Finally, I noticed a bit of an angry bark before his moaning when I said wait. I tried to say it many times, but had no luck. I even tried to say it rapidly, say it with slap, and say it close, but he didn't bite. Maybe he does if you interrupt his eating. Anyone want to test this? Screenshots would be appreciated if you succeeded.

Never heard of it. Never known of this. I tried generally annoying him while eating, but not in depth. Maybe try google etc. or if someone could contact OI in some way at least...?

I would think that it would be sort of like an easter egg. Elum has been known to be stubborn, so anything like "wait" could make him grumpy. Plus, I think that not a whole lot of things can touch Elum. Sure, you can kill him by making him walk into a mine, but he can't be shot. So I don't think he can be so pissed that he would kill you.

However, here's an idea. Have you ever tried slapping him when he is eating honey?

Elum is a game object. Even if you possess a slig and then try to shoot him, nothing happens. Even when, in the beginning, you make him stand on the X and pull the lever, nothing happens.

If you try to throw a rock at a Slig or a Scrab, nothing happens, so you probably can't get Elum to kill you, I would laugh if he did though!

A. Slapping only exists in AE
B. That grunt is normal and is what he does when you say "follow me", too. It is his acceptance noise. The moaning is just extra because he gets lonely.

I really hate it when he moans, it gets quite annoying after a while.

You can't slap in AO, and Elum isn't in AE, so I don't know what the hell you people are thinking...
I know about these things...I also got annoyed when he wasn't affected by the boulder. Would've been funny seeing him get crushed, in a sick twisted kind of way...
At least we can make him follow us of a cliff still...XD

I really think there is a way to kill him without using bombs or making him fall off a cliff. I could almost swear I saw his dieing body somewhere, and it looked as if he'd been crushed. I can't say for certain though.

You could possibly kill him with two swarms of bees or by making him follow you off a ledge to fall 2 levels(the one in Scrabania whaere you have to go down and pull the lever to star the mine circling, or the tower in paramonia, but I think he is invincible to falls

He is invincible in falls. You know the bit where you go down the pulley, possess a Slig and shoot the two others before jumping over a hole into a door using Elum? You can just ignore the pulley and just get on Elum and run and jump over...except when you go down you better be quick about getting up to avoid being shot...

in paramonia i was riding the elum and i was careless and i ran him with me on top of him off of a cliff and fell 2 scenes and we both survived so elums are invincible to falls.

you know how that if you kill all the mudokons in AO you get infinite grenades? that might be what can kill him/piss him off, just plumb throwing grendes at him!

Also, someone I know had a pirated copy of both of the Abe games (he should be burnt at the stake, I know) and he found that if you can blow up a slig next to Elum (after chanting with him onscreen) the next time you tell elum to wait he'll walk over to you, and lick Abes lower paws (NERDLINESS!) which kills our Blue liege for no obvious reason.

You only get infinite grenades in Rupturefarms 2. it starts you off there. Even if you used the glitch to go back levels with infinite grenades, they'd turn into rocks in Paramonia. It wouldn't work.

Pirated copies. Full of glitches and all. Probably that's what happened.

I never said that. I meant the Abe dying when Elum apparently licked his feet. Presuming it was the honey licking animation? Also presuming you weren't being attacked by bee's and standing next to honey at the same time?
