Failure to Comply( my newest Fanfic )

Since I finished The Fallen Temple I decided to start my next fanfic.

Here is the Preview.

4000 years before Abe began his Oddysee, the world of Oddworld was a much different place. Above the continent of Mudos was a continent of splendor and glory in the prime of the Planet. When mudokons were guardians of peace, and Glukkons were a peaceful people, well most of them. And sligs were sligs. But what was feared the Most were in the shadows the darkness that would lead Oddworld's finest cities and towns, and inhabitants back to the Stone age.................

Chapter 1

Double Cross

Derec was headed for the east platform where the deal was to take place, but he could only for now see the shape of a figure standing with a brief case. Derec arrived and met the informant.

" Do you have the transmitter?" The Chronicler Inquired.

" Let me see the money first." Derec Replied.

" I think not."

At that moment three sligs surrounded Derec. The Chronicler then replied:

" I guess that concludes our buisness." And took the Transmitter from a stunned Derec, then turned to get into his shuttle.

Derec sensing more than just a buisness deal gone wrong jumped in the air and removed his sword from his robe and slashed the sligs in one tome around.

Derec knew he had to find who was behind this latest threat. He looked back and saw more security who had been called, and were ready to fight. But Derec had other intentions. he began to run for the fleeing shuttle and used his Abilities to jump even higher and faster.

His plan was successful and he attached himself to the shuttle and hung from a distance, not entirely sure where he was headed.

It gets better trust me........

I like it Al that was exciting for the first chapter. I can't wait for more! Plus I like how you are useing Chroniclars in your story. Oh and thanks for sending me that pm. I thought you dident recieve my picture of Blarg so I was kind of wondering if you had it. thats cool. If you want I can draw up my other characters and creatures of Conquest. I just need to go ahead and draw them.

Chapter 2 Night Life

Derec continued to hold on to the shuttle as it lifted into the evening sky. As it lifted the traffic was getting denser. Derec nearly missed an air taxi flying right by.

The only thing Derec could think about was that he had to get the brief case back. The Glukkon high council needed enough evidence of a large smuggling operation taking place in the city.

The shuttle landed near a restaurant well known to the populance. the chronicler exited his shuttle and entered, while derec detatched the cable from his belt he raised his hood on his cloak and kept his sword hidden, as he also entered the restaurant.

The chronicler was about to sit down as Derec put the sword up to the chronicler's neck.

" I believe you have something that belongs to me. "

" I won't tell you anything!" The chronicler spit back.

" sit down, now!" Derec commanded.

The chronicler took a seat at the booth, while Derec sat across from him.

" all I know was that I was contacted via hologram to deliver the transmitter, I swear thats all I know." The chronicler said.

" I 'm going to bring you to the high council, they will read your thoughts."................................

Chapter 3 The Council Chambers

Derec followed by the chronicler landed at the temple shrine where THe Glukkon High Council, along with the Mudokon guard was located. Derec escorted the Chronicler to the top floor where the two were greeted by the Council.

The Glukkons wear traditional capes around their necks flowing down their backs, on the back depicts a three fingered hand on a moon sewn beautifully. None wear buisness suits.

" Welcome Chronicler we have been expecting you." Yslam the Head coincil member said.

" Uh.....uh....hello." the Chronicler responded.

" He was the informant, and claims he was contacted by hologram." Derec shared with the council.

The Council then peared deep within the chronicler's mind probing it for any further information.

" The Chronicler is free to go, nothing more he has for us."

Another Hooded Mud escorted him out. The council told Derec to remain. In the distance Oddworld's sun set behind the magnificent city, as the lights of large skyscrapers lit up. Traffic was busy as usual.

" Derec we need you to investigate further and see what else is going on, beside the smuggling of transmitters and portable devices."

" I will began tommorrow." Derec Replied

" Rest well."

Then the council a jurned and returnded to their private sleeping quarters. Derec went back to the bunk where he met up with his friend Chris went into his slepping quarters also. Derec removed his clothes, and hung up his sword and cloak.

Then he too entered his bunk in the wall. And locked his cell. Derec's eyes closed and he drifted to sleep./

Wow dude this is so cool. I like how you are useing a futureristic view of Oddworld. That is very interesting. Keep up the good work! This kind of reminds me of Star Wars hehe! Thats great!

Chapter 4 a deadly mission.

Derec awoke rested, and refreshed. he climbed out of the tube and put his loin cloth on. Before he put is cloak on he meditated. And fenced inside his quarters. Yslam entered.

" greetings Derec, I trust you had a good nights rest."

" Yes, I actually did"

" I'm glad to hear that."

Derec put his robe on and the two left the sleeping quarters. Yslam told Derec that they lost Contact with one of their Mud guards, out on the Forest Labratories. Derec would have to infiltrate and see what was taking place their.

Derec agreed with Yslam and decided he would leave the city for this mission. The two took an elevator down to the hanger, and Yslam escorted Derec to his scout fighter.

" Be careful Derec, I have a bad feeling about this." Yslam said.

" I'll be carfefull." Derec replied.

His ship took off out of the hanger as dawn was breaking in the city. But soon the city was vanishing and more wildlife was coming into view, all Derec could think about was the Name of the continent he was headed to, Mudos.

Chapter 5 Mudos

Derec's fighter was zooming over the dense forest land, dereccould not believe his eyes. He had never in his lifetime seen so much wild life. He could only remember large skyscrapers, and tall buildings, along with the Council chambers Hq for the Mudokon guard.

Derec looked at his view screen and looked for info about this continent. Some included wild life, such as Vykkers, which lived in the trees, Scrabs, Meeches, Paramites, and others, like meetles.

Derec was also suprised to hear that their were native muds, and and native Glukkons. He decided to land in a clearing in the forest. It had been hours until he had finally entered into mudos air space, actually a five hour trip in even a fast ship such as Derec's.

He climbed out of the cockpit, and looked around. He could hear noises from inside the canopy of the forest. According to his info he was in Paramonia. Derec put his radio head set on and reported in.

" Yslam, this is Derec I have reached Mudos, and am inside aa large forest" Derec said.

" Keep investigating " Yslam said.

Chapter 6 Forest Canopy

Derec stepped out of the fighter and entered the dense forest. The first thing that caught his attention was the strange animals drinking from the stream, they appeared to be some sort of riding like creatures.

According to Derec's analysis the creature was called an Elum. He went up to this strange creature, and tried to mount it but was thrown off. Derec hit his head on the tree and got up again he decided to leave this creature alone.

" How can a beast as dumb as you survive in a world such as this!" Derec told the Elum.

But Derec knew the animal could never understand what he was saying. Along the forest wall Derec found a pulley elevator and decided to find where it lead. To his suprise the Pulley went straight up.

But when he arrived at the top of the canopy he pulled his hood down. And found a research facility that was completely hidden from the rest of the world. Derec walked up to the entrace gate which was sealed by electronic blast doors, to try and find his way inside.

Instead the doors opened and a bright white light blinded Derec and he lost conciousness.

Chapter 7 A mystery in itself

Derec in suspended animation dreamt, of a future danger approaching the horizon. He witnessed a great battle, and the destruction of the city he lived in, the sky had turned black and the sun was blocked by an eclipse.

Derec awoke unable to see clearly. He looked through the fog and realized he was trapped inside a glass tube. He could barely make out the figures who were observing, his still, unclothed body. They appeared to be scientists of some sort that were discussing something about him.

He atempted to hit the glass, as the scientists in the white lab coats stared curiosly at this attenpt of communication. Derec finally recognized who they were, he had read a profile on the beings known as Vykkers.

They whispered something to Derec as though to talk to him, then they touched a button on the control panel and released the tube. Derec stumbled out, and the Vykkers kindly lifted his body up.

" Don't be frightened, Derec we knew you were coming. We will escort you to your room we have much to discuss." The Vykker said to Derec as the others followed.

"Bu....." Derec mumbled.

" Do not worry Derec everything will be fine, everything will be revealed about your purpose to us. We are very blessed with you here, it is fortunate you have come now."

The Group followed into the organic hallways of the facility, with millions of suspended creatures watching from thier tubes. Derec had know idea what was in store for him next.......

Im most likely going to split this story into two parts with twenty chapter each. I will be updating as you do once a week starting tommorrow. Until twenty chapters are done. Then I will start a new fan fic. Then I will update this story with the last twenty chapters. Confusing, but I need to fit in time for other things too.

Chapter 8 A strange turn

Derec awoke on the forest floor surrounded by other mudokons they appeared to be trying to talk to him they lifted him up and brought him with them.

The group of muds followed the path through the forest until they came to a guarded fortress, a village known as Zarcyn, they appeared friendly and thought Derec was one of the tribes, Mudokon residents.

Derec was still confused he couldnt remeber who he was or what he was doing here, like he was in a dream he could not awake from. All he remembered was that he awoke surrounded by these native Muds.

They left Derec to sleep in the sleeping quarters. Though as Derec slept, memories, from his mind came into play, he could not remember what they were but they were flashing in his mind, a Maginficent city he once lived in, the sprawling metropolis he enjoyed so much.

Then he remembered entering a facility where he was being studied, then escorted to a room, where the doctors talked with him, after that all memory stopped until he had awoke in the forest and discovered.

Derec not even knowing that was his name struggled to remember, what those images were and what they meant.

What could this possibly mean for Derec? This now may endager his mission on Mudos, will he remember who he is...........

Chapter 9 The Shroud of Darkness begins to Fall

Mean While in the city of Mudarc........

Dusk was upon the grand city of Mudarc. The Oddworldian Sun was setting past the skyscrapers, as the darkness of night fell. The city lit up all at once, as the traffic was getting dense as usual.

Yslam the head of the Glukkon High council, stepped into his office, as the sun was setting he peered through the windows, seeing over everything as the Oddworld moon depicted on there ceremonial capes, came into view, the three fingered hand, seen as always.

One thing was still on Yslam's mind, why hadnt Derec reported in, the past week. He began to be worried, what could have happened, Mudos was still a new continent that hadnt been fully explored yet.

Though what happened next was odd indeed, and very unexpected.

A small hologram appeared, on Yslams desk, he sat down in his throne of the high council, and listened to what the hologram said. Not only did the hologram begin to speak, the hologram was of a hooded glukkon.

Most of this glukkon's face was hidden except for the glowing red eyes, he was wearing a hooded Black robe, and told Yslam something, that he said was important information to the Glukkons.

" Yslam leader of the Glukkon High Council, I come to speak to you of the truth about the moon we worship........."

"What is it," Yslam inquired.

"I will tell you when I meet with you in person..." the hooded glukkon responded. meet me tonight on the balcony outside your office........., I will meet you there within the hour........."

What is the information about, and who is this Glukkon.......Stay tuned, and also find out how Derec is doing,
