“I always believe the movies I've made are smarter than the way they are perceived by sort of mass culture and by the critics,” Snyder said, a statement he immediately followed by saying, “Also, ‘It looks like a video game.’
I like it when people answer their own questions, it saves me the banality.

You can always give a trial period and see how well people adhere to basics sensibility. If it fails then we know that this forum isn't capable of following a set of guidelines don't we?

Oh yeah, fair point. Maybe he was just tortured until he lost consciousness.
To everyone who's requesting a trial period, or an assessment process; the law is a sledgehammer, not a scalpel. It's much easier to just have a basic rule that affects few people than to either open the floodgates and irritate everyone or have a complicated process that annoys the mods.

Spending as long as I do here, it's easy to forget that Oddworld has actual fans.
Basically we don't like to encourage newbs to interact with staff members any more than is necessary. Life would be so much easier if we could bar entry to anyone unable to spell and define the word 'obnoxious'.
While I was originally of the opinion that OWF's sig and avy limits were painfully extreme, I have - since those unenlightened days - been on many a message board where said limits were much freer, and therefore the average full page of posts could take more than half a minute to load, and you were blinded all the way down to flashing banners and avatars and spent more time scrolling past signatures than posts. Basically bigger images means more room for annoyingness.
You are neither funny, nor clever. You think you are... but you aren't.
