I've done a fair bit of work with 3D printing for stop-motion animation, and I'm pretty confident that's a high end 3D print, similar to those used for the replacement faces in ParaNorman/Coraline.
The high end machines print with a colour finish too, taken direct from the CAD file/model's texture map. Typically, you get a somewhat blurred and translucent-looking print, which appears to be so here (particularly around the eyes/stitches).
Looking closely it looks like you can just about see the layers too, though that might just be the photo!
Nevertheless, it looks awesome and no doubt cost a lot! Perhaps it's a prototype for a statue?
