Happy WIP Scene : Oddworld FeeCo Depot [Finished]

Hi guys !

I visit this forum since a long time but I never write anything...I don't really know why ^^ Maybe cause i'm french and my english might be...special.

Well, I decided to write here because I think that what I started to do a year ago with my Photoshop could be very interesting for you, fans of oddworld...

I used to play very often at "Abe's Oddysee" and "Abe's Exodus" (Didn't have the Xbox for Munch, so I don't really know it sorry...^^). What a game...wow...So intelligent, reflecting our society, brilliant !

So, here is the story : A year ago I decided to create a scene extracted from the game, with the place named "FeeCo depot" which represent, for me, the soul of abe's games : You know, factories, exploitation, power of the machine, etc...

I stopped it few months ago because I have not enough time to do it, but now, I take it back. Actually, it's because I'm creating a distort advertising campaign based on Oddworld's game, just for fun, for me : Create crazy drinks, food, etc, with funny logos, typo, etc, that I create with my Photoshop. A way of remember Oddworld. But I tell you more later. Let's get back to my Fecco Depot scene. So I said "I should show to everybody what it looks like, step by step"

And here I am !

I could redirect you to my facebook page to follow my work on it but I'm so fanatic of Oddworld that I prefer share it with you on live here (And I suppose it's not allowed ^^)

So, remember Feeco Depot ?

Yes ? So let's go ^^

First pictures, I reproduced some logos in HD (I know they are very demanded on the forum lol...)

Do you remember the train ?

As you can see, I'm not doing exactly the same things that you can see in the game...It's kind of cool to personnalize it, a little bit Or it would be just "copy" !

I'll came back soon for the rest, I got to go now, but I'll post others things I don't know if it's allowed but you can visit my facebook page to see more here http://www.facebook.com/affectueusement.votre.ecotone (Delete it if needed of course) But if you are patient, don't visit it and let me surprise you with others stuffs Bye !

So you are re-creating a FeeCo Scene using HD models and 3D rendering? If so I can't wait too see more! Abe's Exoddus is my favorite oddworld game and FeeCo is one of my favorite environments

Its actually quite funny that we've had similar HD logos and train models here in the fan corner.

Yes, i'm doing that ! Bu with some kind of...personnalization ! I mean, like colors, shapes, etc...Not funny to re-create exactly the same (You can see it with the train, and even the logos don't use the same typo, didn't find them)

Seriously ? Maybe I missed it, i'd like to see it !!

This WIP is often followed on a 3D french forum, but I thought that it will be aloso interesting to post it here (kind of logical !)

Very nice, it has an oddly gothic tone about it. I love it.

Next !

I don't think we can see them in the game, but one time i've found a draw (some kind of prototype draw, I hope you see what I want to say ^^) on oddworld's library website, so I thought they were so excellent, I decided to re-create them as a real 3D model. So here is it :

Some very snazzy boilers, but you can actually see them in Bonewerkz if I remember correctly and they are absolutely enormous, these little fun sized ones are quite a good idea though, not too sure of their function in a station terminus but they look cool.

It looks good, but that thing is—if I'm not mistaken—concept art for the Bonewerkz boilers.

Thank you, I really appreciate Noted for Bonewerkz - I knew with the draw concept it was something really big - I'm now thinking how I could use it correctly in my scene

Great work on the models. The barrels and crates look really Oddworld-ish.

lol excellent, nice translation ^^ I Don't think I understand everything but...nicely tried lol ^^ (Even if my own english might be...hum)

Thanks for your feedback. Always nice to see that people could be interested with my work !

For the general impression, I mean, colors, general look, will change a little, I think.

We'll see later. But for now, something very simple I wanted to try

Don't worry about the strange perspective and the linear texturing problem on the top of the door! ^^

Now trying to make a complete scene...
