Talking about Frima:
:
(Québec) The Frima entertainment studio dismisses about forty employees in Quebec City and places the key under the door of its office in Montreal, where a dozen people work.
The company which, not so long ago, had 400 employees, has only 250 at the last count.
The announcement comes just a dozen days after another video game company in the capital - Beenox - announced the closure of its gaming test unit and the layoff, by the same token, of about thirty Of employees.
In an interview with the Sun, Frima co-founder and CEO Christian Daigle does not believe that the future of the industry is in jeopardy in Quebec City.
"I am not able to assess the situation at Beenox. What I can say, though, is that we are in a cyclical industry and we have to constantly adapt to change. Honestly, I do not see any sign of discomfort. Simply a reflection of a constantly changing entertainment and gaming industry. "
Contracts and projects, Frima does not lack, believes Christian Daigle. "We're going to have a lot of ads coming," he says.
"Redevelop more agile"
"What we are announcing is a reorganization. We are looking to be more agile. To become a team again a little tighter. It is an exercise in sound management that we are working on. We have seen tremendous growth in recent years. We want to be more effective in managing our projects, "he said.
"By adopting a more flexible structure and closer to our SME reality, we are improving our operational efficiency and building a solid foundation for continued growth. The important thing for our team is to make courageous decisions at the right time so we can look to the future and give ourselves the means to ensure our sustainability in the Capitale-Nationale. "
Most of Frima's departments are affected by the ongoing reorganization, mainly finance, information technology, human resources and other services that accompany production activities.
The sales experts do it. "We will even increase our sales force."
For most employees affected by the layoffs, termination of employment is immediate. Others will complete their last week of work on Thursday and Friday.
"Let's say it was not the most enjoyable day on Wednesday," said Christian Daigle, assuring that all the dismissed people would be able to benefit from the necessary resources in order to be able to find a livelihood as quickly as possible. "If companies do layoffs, others are recruiting in our industry," says Daigle.
