I'm feeling very Scroogey this year. Planning the wedding, and other expenses has made the idea of giving four kids and a fiance a Christmas, and Abbey a birthday very, very stressful. I got a second job working midnights at 7-11, though....so.....yay. That should be fun.

My girlfriend is going skiing in California with her parents for three weeks over Christmas and it sucks. I don't blame her, because Christmas in Australia is fucking shite, but I wish I'd been able to go as well.

I realised the other day that we're less than two weeks from Christmas and three from NYE, and was surprised. After some self-reflection, I realised that part of me simply wasn't expecting those dates to occur during cold weather.

So how're you handling the weather up there?

The only time I've been in Seattle was early spring, and I couldn't stand how cold it was then. I can only imagine how cold it gets in winter.

It was bitterly cold (maximum of 3-5C and below freezing overnight) a few weeks back and even snowed briefly. Now it's a comparitively mild 11-13C. The initial onset of Winter was hard, but now I've more or less gotten used to it.

Just finished working in the big city for 5 months and back with the parents getting free food that isn't takeout or pasta and chicken. And I can't wait to get some nice, warm socks on Christmas Day. I'm having a pretty alright time.

For once, I enjoyed Christmas (so far). Over last few years, it passed me by a bit without me realising and I felt apathetic towards it. Who knows why - maybe distracted by work, but this year I had one swig of some cider I bought off these folk who brew themselves, a mince pie, and then I knew it was Christmas.
