Hmmmmm. I asked about the fan vent in RuptureFarms. I've recently been listening to Valve commentaries and was curious why they removed the rolling obstacle from that bit. Nothing really illuminating but I was curious.
I honestly would have to watch it again, tbh. But I got about 3 or 4 answered.

Not sure I answered this too well on the livestream as my memory was a bit hazy. It basically came down to some early level changes that, in hindsight, interrupted the way we teach the player how to crouch.
We didn't want to break the pattern of using the LED screens to show tutorials and we couldn't easily fit one inside that tunnel without making drastic changes to the environment art, so we decided to remove the fan and just have Abe walk through it.
The crouch tutorial now comes slightly later, where there is room for an LED screen to explain it!
