Who else had problems with Zulag 4?

Hello,

I've finished New 'n' Tasty yesterday with 256 Mudokons saved and found Zulag 4 to be extremely difficult for me to complete. In fact the hardest part of the game.
The first area with the BoomMachineâ„¢ behind electricity and the checkpoint in a small room after a tunnel with the laser sensor was problematic for me. I know how it works better now but the first playthrough took me like an hour to figure this out.
Also I missed mudokons in Z4, I think.

I would like to know your opinions on Zulag 4 or the game in general

I found Zulag 4 just as easy as the rest of the Zulags honestly. I never noticed a sudden increase in difficultly.

You're right. The room with the boom machine was horrendous for me to complete. I don't know why to be honest, but I find myself only getting though it through fluke. The rest wasn't too hard.

Is this the part with the Boom Machine in the entrance area, or the Boom Machine behind the electric Slig Lock, that reactivates every time you go through the sensor? If you're referring to the latter, yes, that was horrible. I still don't know how it is meant to work—as Connell said, it's mostly just on a fluke that i get through it. God bless, Quiksave.

I had some difficulties going trough that one as well to be honest.

Are you saying they kind of fixed it now?

Not if Pirfsich found it difficult since he played it after the 1.05 patch.

EDIT: So I think the moral here is that Crashpunk is just better at Oddworld than the rest of you guys. :P

Personally, I didn't find it TOO difficult. Although I have played through Oddysee two or three times, so experience was on my side.

I wasn't quite sure how to do it. I found myself using my grenades from the other part of the Zulag and just trying to blow up all the sligs after sneaking past them to pull the lever did not work.

Oddey, you're exactly right. It wasn't hard, it wasn't a challenge, it was just an infuriating mess that was best completed by powering your way through and destroying everything in sight.

I think you misunderstand me. It didn't pose a problem, it just didn't seem to have any logic, and blowing shit up to get through was far more time efficient, especially for speedrunning the New 'N' Hasty trophy.

I'm just keeping you going man. I thought it was funny that scroptatious was trying to reassure people since he'd played the original two or three times - which seemed to unintentionally come off as a slag.

huh... I never had to go and get a grenade from the machine behind the electric field... Either I kept them from another level or I just got some more later on?

And no. I'm not amazing at Oddworld. In fact I die way to often. It's just I never really find myself getting stuck in a section and I always seem to find alternative ways to beat it.

Zulag 4 for example, I just destroyed the chant orbs and possessed the Sligs.
