Hey, nutsos.
So I'm writing a book.
It's a sorta fantasy romance / political drama type thing. I've managed to nail the plot out, but I wanna know if it reads like shit.
Anyway:
There's a big sprawling city, sort Pre-Revolution France-inspired, where the opulent Elite live in a huge palace, and with hundreds of commoners around them. The Elite have over the years made themselves out as Godlike beings, who cannot be seen by the public. Every saturday night they impose a curfew, and anybody who is caught outside while they wander the city and hunt wild game through the streets is either executed or imprisoned, either way, it sucks balls.
Enter the heroine, a young peasant woman who barely makes it home about 10 seconds after the curfew drops. She sees, before the door is slammed shut, a person standing on the roof in the background, whom she fears is an Elite.
However, she isn't arrested or anything, but soon feels a sort of sick desire to go back out there.
Which she does.
Long story short, after encountering some sort of unholy mix of lion and lobster and killing it, she finds out it was some wild game. The Elite who saw her the previous night also saw this.
He's the Prince. He's also handsome as. She falls head-over-heels in love and he seems to like her too, adopting her as his Elite assistant.
The heroine is now a member of the upper-class, and struggles to adjust so suddenly to this world of high fashion and etiquette. Eventually, she makes friends with another young girl, a prodigy in strategy who was made the King's general. The General and the Heroine become fast friends and often talk and meet. Eventually through these meetings, the Heroine realizes just how shallow the Prince really is, and how deep and passionate the General is about saving lives.
To cut the story to the chase, after a while somebody makes an attempt on the Prince's life, and he survives. However, the second time it happens right in front of the Assistant, and as the Prince dies, the General sadly reveals that she's behind it. As she's stated before, she deals in facts, and the facts were that the Kingdom was unjust and the King a poor ruler. She and the Heroine admit their feelings for each other, and with the military begin a coup.
At the end of it, the King is exiled, the citizens wake up to a new leadership that tears down the old laws, and the Heroine ends up as Co-Queen. Also, lesbian sex.
So, does it suck?

On the other hand, high school boys are
useless outside battle and sports anime.
But they're recklessly trying to make a slice-of-life anime about us.
Ah, we are high school boys,
