Happy Springfield on... Oddworld?

I've recently played the game The Simpsons Hit and Run and my friend (also an OW fan) told me that if you stand in a correct position and enable freelook in the third level, and look up at the sky you see the Oddworld moon with Abe's hand on it. At first I thought wtf?, but decided to give it a try. After a while I succeeded and actually saw the moon from Oddworld on the Simpsons. Very wierd. Anyone else notice that?

Try and get us a screenshot, if you can.

You know, when I first glanced at the title of this thread I thought you were singing "Springtime, for Oddworld, and Germaneeee!"

Well if it's on a PC just click PrtSc. If it's on a console you may just have to take a photo of the screen.

It's a platform game, I have it.

Wow, I never really noticed that, I will have to warm up my cube and take a look. Am I the only one that doesn't think the wasp cams look like sligs?

Hmmm... I got to the third level again and stood in the same spot, but nothing happened. Maybe it's after a particular mission. When I saw the moon, it was actually when I played a few months ago. It might actually be on the sixth mission because it's in the same area and it's night. And on the third, it's at sunset. I'll have to see. I only remmeber that you have to stand in front of some restaurant and look up when the lighthouse light shines on the moon. Maybe I should go to higher ground.

EDIT: I'll post a screenshot when i find the moon. The point of this thread was to uncover a friendship between Lorne Lanning and Matt Groening, I mean, why else would he put an"easter egg" from oddwrold on a simpson game?

Possibly because the game designers (seeing as Matt Groening did not design, program and produce the entire game himself) maybe like Oddworld. Did you consider that?

Yes I did consider that. Maybe they got their inspiration from Oddworld. It was nice putting the moon in anyway.

Show us the moon already.

Thes Simpsons and Oddworld have things in common, but I never thought they would be mixed in some way.

Seeing as the Simpsons TV show references plenty of movies and other TV shows, it only seems appropriate that the game references other games. Are there any interesting ones from other games?

This whole concept sounds overly phony. I have play through the game on multiple occasions and never encountered such things.

I'll believe it when I see it. *WINK WINK TOPIC CREATOR WINK WINK*

I haven't played the game in a long time, but I do remember that when I did see the moon I thought that it was just a silhouette of homer's head on the moon not a mudokan paw. (I was also told that abe's moon was in the game that's why I was looking out for it.) But I would have to check it out again.

Wait a minute, does it look exactly like Abe's moon, or just a little? Is it AO's moon or AE's moon?

Only if you bought AO in Japan. In the rest of the world, Abe (and thus his moon) had four fingers. One was chopped off for the Japanese version and the future games. Read here for the explanation why.

Sounds like a new "I can say something on the Internet and people MUST believe me" topic.
