The Humble Cheese Toastie

I thought that the cheese on toast needed a grand place in history.

PICTURE

Everyone knows that a hard day can be extremely grueling and nothing is a better pick me up than the toast with cheese.

Now I will share with you the epic way of creating the perfect cheese on toast.

Step 1: Turn grill on down low, wait till it heats up and put two slices of bread in.

Step 2: Slice cheese up at whatever thickness you prefer...(keep in mind that the thicker the cheese the longer the wait)

Step 3: As soon as the cheese is sliced, remove bread from grill and proceed to place the cheese onto the warm bread and set it back into the low heat grill.

Step 4: This part is all about patience, you must wait until the cheese has melted about 75% then you turn the grill up to full heat and wait.

Step 5: Once you heard sizzling, smile, because you know that the toast is on it's way to perfection. Once the cheese has started to brown remove the toast and slice in half...make sure tea is at the ready, sit back and enjoy the greatest cheese on toast that your ever going to experience.

You may now share your recipes and thoughts on the greatest snack ever...

EDIT: Due to the wisdom of an incredibly wise person there are a few changes in the post...

Nice picture of, and recipe for, cheese on toast. But a cheese toastie is something different. It's a toastie filled with cheese.

EDIT: For the confused, Ridg3 was originally talking about cheese toasties, but used the current photo and description.

I have yet to do it...

Here we call that a Grilled Cheese or Grilled Cheese Sandwich.

When my mom made cheese on toasted bread she called them cheesy toasties.

there was this one book at my library, I shit you not, it said "Grilled cheese for Dummies". It was like, seriously? Who the hell DOES NOT know how to make one of those?

But it turned out that it had recepies for uses will bell peppers and stuff like that. So it wasn't entirely useless.

Not a grilled cheese, but a cake that LOOKS like a grilled cheese.
Of course, I always preferred my grilled cheese cupcakes.

Naw, just to lazy to look it up. So...wait FLIRTING? >screeches<

And BTW, just looked up "Softwear" and it comes up as contacts. I don't need those, as I don't have eyes.

Umm, here's a great grilled cheese recipe for breakfast:
Ingredients
2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk or water
Salt and pepper
3 teaspoons butter, room temperature, divided
4 slices whole wheat or white bread
2 slices Co-Jack cheese
4 slices fully-cooked bacon
Directions
1.Beat eggs, milk, salt and pepper in bowl until blended.
2.Heat 1 tsp. butter in large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Pour in egg mixture. As eggs begin to set, Gently pull the eggs across the pan with an inverted turner, forming large soft curds. Continue cooking--pulling, lifting and folding eggs--until thickened and no visible liquid egg remains. Do not stir constantly. Remove from pan. Clean skillet.
3.Spread remaining 2 tsp. butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
4.Place 2 slices in skillet, buttered side down. Top evenly with scrambled eggs, cheese and bacon. Cover with remaining bread, buttered side up.
5.Grill sandwiches over medium heat, turning once, until bread is toasted and cheese is melted, 2 to 4 minutes.
Footnotes

INSIDER INFORMATION Avoid cast iron. Eggs scrambled in a cast iron skillet can turn a greenish shade. This harmless but unappealing color change is the result of a chemical reaction between iron in the pan and sulfur in egg whites. Don't overcook. The heat retained in the pan will continue to cook and firm up the eggs after pan is removed from heat. How long to beat? It's a matter of preference. Light beating produces more dense scrambled eggs. Vigorous beating aerates the eggs, resulting in lighter fluffier curds. This recipe is an excellent source of protein, calcium and choline, and a good source of fiber, Vitamin A, folate and iron.
