The first Art War was long and vicious.
It was a war that turned
heroes into
monsters...
And some
monsters into
heroes...
In 1937,
UltraSafe 8000, veteran of the first Art War, was elected President of the World, and
declared the beginning of Art War 2.
It was a
long,
deadly war, marked by
violence and
terror.
President UltraSafe ruled the world,
steering the course of war like
a puppeteer, until
the strings became tangled, his
popularity plummited and
the people demanded an end to his
Reign of Terror...
Unfortunately, President UltraSafe, the baddest of bad losers, had other ideas...
As his final act of Presidency, he plunged the world into a nuclear winter that would destroy the world's society, and most of it's life.

The year now is 1964, and for the first time in nearly 20 years the sun is shining over the frozen world below. Drawn to it's light, the survivors of the Winter climb up to see what remains of the world. And so begins a war for resources and warmth. So begins a war for domination over the world's new society.
So begins...
Wars of the Art III
THE COLD WAR
The Aim of the Game:
Fairly simple,
You create a character.
Lots of other people create characters.
Once we begin, you pick another player’s character and attack them.
Then you pick someone else, or indeed the same character again, and attack them too!
Repeat times infinity.
This is not an RPG: You are free to harm/maim/murder another player’s character. And no matter how many times your character is killed, you are always welcome to bring it back again.
You are a hero with infinite Extra Lives!
The idea is not to be the best fighter or to be indestructible, but simply to have FUN! Don’t get angry if other people kill your character; just kill theirs in return!
A few words of advice:
You might want to avoid creating a really complicated character because if other people can’t draw them, they won’t attack them, and you’ll have nothing to do! Half the fun is in seeing other people attack your character! However, don't go the other way and over simplify; a box with eyes won't be much fun, 'cus it can't do anything. Use some creativity but bear in mind the laziness of the average Oddworld Forum member
So that’s it. Now go forth, make your character, post it in this thread and once we have a few the time will be ripe to launch your attack upon the internet.
You can join any time, even after the thread has started. If the thread is 15 pages long when you arrive, you can still join.
In the previous editions of WOTA, story-lines have formed, from simple grudges to full on world domination plots. However, you do not need to read the whole thread to join (though it'll probably be worth it for the entertainment value).
If you were a member of a previous WOTA, you are free to bring back your old characters. Alternatively you could make brand new ones!
The theme of this thread seems to be nuclear winter and a rebuilding society, so feel free to work this into your pictures (or not).
