Oddworld Favorite Part of Oddworld

Everyone (almost) has their own favorite little part of Oddworld. It could be part of the story line in one of the games. It could be the innovative characters that Lorne and his team of creators have invented and given life to. Or maybe it's one of the antics that Abe, Munch, or Stranger are involved in.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, what is your favorite part of Oddworld?
Mine is the ability to lose my self in a game that really involves the player in something so new, creative, and Odd. I can almost live in my own alternate reality when playing the games.
(Not to mention that Abe is just so awesome...)

I love EVERYTHING in Oddworld, from the very first moment I've played it. I was truly impressed, vivid characters, beautiful backgrounds and the storyline is also great. The universe is realy great and odd. It looks like nothing I've seen before. Frankly speaking I'm a big fan of Star Wars, but after all those Super Star Destroyers and epic battles it's just great to feel the invirement of this world. Unfortunately I've only played AO and AE because I haven't x-box and thus cant play Munch oddysee...

I think I like everything of Oddworld.
But the most important part was its humor, I guess.

I really like everything about it. I guess my favorite parts would be the darkness that was in Abe's Oddysee and a bit in Abe's Exoddus, and how it reflects so much upon our world. The beautiful backgrounds was another great thing. Or how the story lines, how Mr. Lanning can just tell these amazing stories... I don't know if I can say that I like just one specific part of Oddworld.
I guess this thread kinda links to the other one "How had Oddworld changed your life?".

Or Stranger's Wrath.

When I played AO the first time, I found the humor well (also when Abe farted)

Pretty much everything. Graphics (dad came in the other day while we were playing it and thought it was a PS2 game. Goes to show), species, the gameplay, puzzles, posessing and shooting the c*ap out of anything that dares get in my way, etc. The Gamespeak is also a really cool feature I adore. The storylines are also very nice and 'fluid', in a sense.

Yep, the humor really get to you after a while. You find yourself
copying the gruff voice of Dr.Phleg or some other character. I
believe I finally mastered Abe. But that's offf the point. My favorite
part about Oddworld is the bueatiful scenary when it comes to
Oddworld nature. And then there is the ugly when it come to the
Glukkons, their franchises and all other related.

I really which the Stockyard Escape (Right After you get out of the Actual Rupture Farms Building.) lasted longer.

I like alot of parts of Oddworld, but I mostly like the Inside of Rupture Farms, I don't really know why. (and Necrum Mines)

yeah, the mood and setting during the stockyard escape is very special. very oddworldesque. the music, the stars, the morbid corpses on poles, the sound of "chantflies"...this is oddworld at its finest.

What i like most about oddworld is the constant nature vs industrial-battle. The scene where the used little slave destroys a symbol for capitalism, beutiful.
I also like the message about taking care of the planets resources and not wasting them, and their oddworld inhabitants disgust for meat packing plants and abuse of animals, i´m a vegeterian and i believe most oddworld-fans are.

I love the chases on it, when you are running away from a fleech it climbs up after you and you have to find some way of killing it lol.
I also love the beauty of the game, the lighting effects rock...

What I love most about Oddworld definitely has to be the creatures that live there. They're really elaborate and I've always looked forward to seeing what new creatures would be a part of the storyline as new games were released.

one thing i particularly like about OI art is that somehow everything on oddworld seems to fall apart but does not and so many things are out of order... what i mean is for instance Bonewerkz. in most places the bricks of the walls are visible, there are great piles of bones everywhere. or SligBarracks i think i dont need to explain that :P

the other thing is the hierarchy system in oddworld. physiologically all the characters fit in their place. glukkons are tall and seem mighty (from a distance :P) vykkers are also tall + their many hands make them able to do things other characters cant therefore are higher in rank, sligs are short bent backs the only thing that gives tham power is a weapon, mudokons and gabbits are kind hearted but clumsy and dont have money therefore ithey dont meet the artificial oddworld ideals

what i want to put accross with this way too long explanation is that the characters are well built and detailed. thats what i enjoy

I like Slig Barracks Because it has that "Army Basecamp" feeling, and I also like Mudomo Vaults because it was one of my favorite levels in Abe's Exoddus.

Same here, I like AO, also, I really like Feeco. because of the design. I like the fancy design for it, heh.

I favorite little mini-movie was when President Dripik, Executive Fleg and Vice Pres Aslik have their little meeting.
HA!
Me and Albinoslig went crazy with that. We loved it, but why so much? We don't know...

So it's not just me who thinks that music of Slig Barracks sounds like a Military Song? But a little... Um, COOLER! lol.

Stock Yard Escape had a slight bit of being creative. and outrunning Scrabs while seeing carcasses in the background gives you a weird feeling. But other scenes of Oddworld rock. Slig Barracks is funny. hehe, pantless sligs.

Mm-hmm, pretty much.
The Free-Fire Zone is my favourite level out of ALL the games. It just has this unique, Oddworld feeling to it, and although all of the levels actually give out that feeling, I think FFZ is the level that does it the most.
I mean, I just look at the scenery and my (heart, soul, whatever) freezes inside.

I just love the way that Oddworld manages to mix both humour and sadness into the stories. At the beginnning of the Munch's Oddysee intro movie, I cried. And by the end, I was laughing my arse off.
It's just incredible, the way that Oddworld designs these original characters that never even had any remote representation with anything we've ever seen on Earth, and yet makes us identify with them almost instantly.
Gawd it's just so hard to explain! I love Oddworld!! *sobs*

My favourite part of Oddworld is the dark/twisted side of the stories... Like Blind Mudokons digging up their bones or the surprise in AE of extracting Mudokon tears.

although ive already said something before, i thought of something else. i also like that all the places are dangerous in oddworld. All factories and facilities have huge heights that u can see in the background. what i meen is they are not dangerous to abe because he cant fall off the platforms but it is really interesting to think about what if he could... so seeming danger is a preference to me

of course it does. im sure that was OI's intention to do it so it resembles a military mood. i think in the pro language they call it a 'march'
