Hi All! I've made a new Oddworld Forum!

Hi guys, I just wanted to tell you, I've made a new Oddworld Forum and I hope when it's ready, you'll all post there too! the site is http://oddworld.conforums.com and when it's ready I'll tell you all! Meanwhile, you can check it out and I hope you all post on there too! THX! Oh yes, and btw I'm the admin and my username is pure_odd and when it's ready hopefully I can make some of you guys mods too!

Well...as it looks now, no one has posted anything. I don't know why I've never been successful at started something well.....hopefully this time my luck will change?

Well, the idea is fine, but i just don't see why we'd like to have a new one! I mean this one i fine, and sorry for saying this, but the site isn't very good. I mean it has a lot of comercials... Wich is kinda bad. And Abe Babe has put much efort in making these forums(i guess). But every one could make a forum like you did. I really don't want to offend you, but it's pointless making a new one. If you can prove me wrong, then fine by me...

No offence, but I have to agree with T nex here. If you want to dedicate your love to oddworld it might be better to start a fan site instead of a forum and maybe connect a forum to it later on when you have some steady vissitors. Just a thought though, Im trying to get my own forum of the ground.

But Havoc is right, there are many places you can host your site for free, or you could also just pay for one. It's really not that espensive.

It is very unlikely that you will get members - well, not many anyway.
Change the skin, it's really bad, not to mention drab and boring.
Change the forum host, it's really bad.

I have been relatively blunt and truthful (though you may see it is a flame, you've seen everything else that way... ) only because you non-sensically flamed Havoc and T-Nex for giving opinions.

There seems to have been a lot of OWF members making their own forums lately. I could be nice and go to all of them, but...
#1 There's not a real community...It's like a ghost town
#2 Even if people were there, it'd take time away from my life keeping up with all the forums

I dont see why you get so angry. Why i am not listening to my OWN advice? well, i simply don't want to. I'm not the kind who makes homesites, it's much funnier to visit them, but that's not the point. You made a forum wich is a copy of this one, just much worse. And this is a free forum, wich means that ANYONE can post here. So you basicly asked for ANYONES opinion.

Why would we have a little extra?? I think this thing would never work. Becous we are all satissfied with what we have. Your forum isn't good, FACE it! And go learn to read by yourself, in my first post i sayd: "if you can prove me wrong, then fine by me." So come on prove me wrong. But don't get angry of nothing. If it was me, i would tell why i did this, what the background is and why people should sign in. You only came in, said"Hi i made a new forum."
Then it's like... Oookayyy i think that i'll just pass this.

This thread was going to recieve negative comments, as it was posted here, at this forum, in a thread promoting another forum of the same nature as this, but that doesn't mean you have to become so aggressive and defending. Don't be angry that someone doesn't like your opinion, just accept that they have their own opinion too. You ain't got a chance in the world of changing it, either.

mudokon, it's great that you want to start up your own Oddworld community. I've tried with other games I like, but they usually end up closing. I don't really have the time to juggle the management of more than one forum, especially seeing as this forum is relatively large.

I wish you the best of luck though.

Besides... perhaps Mudokon's forum is more of a test of his IT skills rather than a serious attempt at ripping off OWF... thats how I'm seeing it...

And to Mudokon, setting up a forum is not a bad Idea in general, but do make sure you offer stuff which make ppl want to come back. Get a nice skin for it, make some interesting catogory's, be interactive with your members and make a lot of advertisement. After you done all that, Waiting is the key. While you keep making advertisement it will take a couple of months before your forum get realy active.
So you dont have to get mad at us for trying to help you, most of us don't want to be a member becouse we like it here, but we will try to help you set it up.

I'm really sorry everyone..It's just that i've been really p'd off lately. I've just been so unhappy with my life and I swear ending it would be too easy... I feel like nothing all the time these days and I dunno why but I'm just so deepy depressed with everything. I mean, I hate me.

Wow. You really need to do something about that depression. I used to be depressed as well, so I know what it's like. Let me just say that life is worth living. I know it may not seem like that now, but you'll be glad you're alive after you get this problem under control. I take Paxil CR and I'm doing great! You should really see someone about your depression. Please!

hey... What's the problem exactly, what are you so depressed over??? I've been very depressed too sometimes, feel that no one loves me But now i feel better, things are going better. One time i've thought of suicide, but just think about it! Suicide is for stupid humans who doesn't anything, they think they can just get away from problems, they only thinmk about themselfs. They don't know how much théy hurt their family and friends if they take their own life. Every day i feel an anger that just have to get out with. But i don't have anyone to talk to
But there is something good in life, you can't just run away from problems.

I used to be depressed and hated my life cuase i am realy not confident and i just could'nt live like this. But now i have new friends and that makes it easyer and you could do some sort of sport or exersice that would help you.

mudokon, mabey you could make an oddworld site, but the hardest part is making an oddworld site thats diffrent from other ones.If your site is very very very excelentay and it will blow you away! then if your lucky enought you might turn out to be a Fan of the month.

Unless you've got a certifiable condition called something like chronic depression the feeling of general malaise and worthlesness typically goes away after about six months. It sounds like Oddguy had a clinical condition, but probably you'll be fine as long as you don't do anything drastic. The more extreme steps you take to either feel better or worse, the lower the depression sinks.

Basically just take it easy. If your feelings persist for too long, you might want to see someone about it. If you seriously entertain thoughts of hurting yourself, you should definitely talk to someone authoratative about it. Try your parents for starters. Also, get out in the sun, man. Studies have shown people are happier when they get more light, and when they smile. Strange but true.

Another Oddworld Forum is a fine idea if you've got the sand and skills to make it worthwhile. I'm sure that while many of the current members here enjoy the elevated conversation (sometimes) there are plenty of fans of a more casual nature who'd like something even more laidback. The possibilities are out there, just figure out how to get to it.

That was a really good pep talk. I've also heard about the light and smiling treatment. Another good one is exercise. Working out causes your body to release endorphins, a chemical that makes you happy. A maintained workout schedual causes a regular dose of endorphins to be in your system, which will keep you at a good level...mood wise. But really, I do suggest you see somebody about this though.

Yes, definitely exercize.

Many people have naturally low seritonin levels, so they feel bad all the time. Drugs raise your seritonin levels, so this is a main reason of resorting to drugs. It's the only thing that can make them feel better. But aerobic exercize also releases a rush of seritonin into your body too...that's why most physically fit people aren't on drugs, because they don't need that extra seritonin boost. This is what people are referring to as the "runner's high".

I run 3 miles every day and when I don't, I just feel...blah.

It really helps.
