Bat or Knife In A Fight To The Death?

For some crazy unknown reason, you are forced into a gladiatorial battle against someone your own size and weight.

You are given the choice of either:

1. An eight inch non-serrated knife
2. A full size alluminum baseball bat

Your opponent gets the other weapon.

Which do you choose?

Seriously, though, a solid blow to the hand and he won't even be able to hold the knife. And I expect the bat is better at blocking a knife than vice versa.

I agree with bat. But it takes quite a bit of power to hit someone hard enough to knock them over and stun then long enough so you can kill them, let alone the fact that if you do knock them over, it is still possible for them to stab you.

Something which can't be said for the knife, you knock someone over, it'll be almost 'impossible' for them to hit you with any degree of power on the floor.

Obviously a headshot would annihilate your opponent, but if you got some guy who is trying to kill you running up towards you, bobbing and weaving about, that headshot is going to be hard to do..

I can just imagine someone being hit in like the side of the ribs, looping his arm over the bat and stabbing the dude in a fit of bloodlust, ignoring the obviously shattered ribs.

i am a pretty big guy and a bat is a deadly weapon in my hands. i am too fat and slow to avoid a 1,90m guy swinging a bat. so a knife would be useless.

Knives are shit for fights if you aren't skilled with them, bats not so much. If you aren't an experienced knife fighter, you'll just end up dropping it, or even running yourself through.

I have a wooden bat by my bed, mostly as an extension of my arm so I can reach things on my bedroom floor/ swat flies/ chase away the pikeys. But I know for a fact that even I could crack a guys head open with it in one or two good hits. They're sturdy as fuck, I'd be quite happy with my bat against someone of equal stature and strength to me if he carried a knife.

Knife, because it only takes one unguarded moment to strike and disable him. Knowing my own strength, a bat would take a few strikes to down myself properly if I even hit lol.

You want to aim for the extremities, starting with the hands, or forearms. You want to disable their ability to fight back before you actually try to kill them.

Bat, because of reach. You can get him before he gets you, but if he does get you, the knife will do a ton more damage. How much health do we have? Are there first aid kits around the arena? Are we allowed to do power attacks even if our stamina bar is empty? Can we use magic?
