this thread closed. Seriously.

If I may put this thread back on topic. The worse consequence of sex... babies. My friend recently broke up with his girlfriend of, let's say, three months because he knocked her up. Well, we're thinking it could be his but he ain't so sure and he's going to go for a DNA test to see who owns it. Swiftly after that he went and banged his friend's sister who has a boyfriend. Needless to say I've lost a considerable amount of respect for him.

Has anyone here had any 'close calls' before, I know I sure have.

Not really. I always make sure to wear a condom and only do it without one when she's on anti conception and we've both had an STD test.

My best friend on the other hand has a bitch of a girlfriend who stopped taking her anti conception without letting him know, probably in some vague attempt to keep him with her. So now he's got a kid and his bitch GF has a second coming. I have the utmost respect for him, given that he's staying with her for the kids. But she has bad news written all over her, I would have gotten out of there a long damn time ago.

I've never had a close experience like that. Though considering I'm only 18 there are quite a few people that were in my year at school that have kids, boys and girls. One of my friends who's girlfriend is about 3 month's pregnant is really excited though I don't see why. Nice to feel proud of your child but cmon at 18 years old it's goona be rather difficult.

I've never had a close call like that. My hometown has one of the highest teen pregancy rates in Europe and I'm in the severe minority of people in my age rage (18-22) who haven't had children or haven't got married, so it's somewhat of an irrational fear of mine that I'll get pregnant at a young age.

Most of the kids I know with children either don't know who the father is, got pregnant within a few months (and then had a shotgun wedding) or thought that having a baby = fixing the relationship.

Ontopic: Well... fat chance of that happening for me.

One of my childhood friends had a kid at age 18 or 19. It was actually the best thing that could have happened to him; it forced him to straighten out his life, get a stable job and get his shit together. And today he's actually a really good father to her.

Well, at least your friend had the sense to turn his life around. Someone I know, not really a friend anymore, had a child and he's jobless, drinks and smokes grass with his benefit money and gets into fights more than oft.

I/we honestly thought for about a week that my GF was pregnant. She sent me a text that she didn't have her period (we used contraception of course) and I was left like a mindless drone for that week until she rang me and said that she was late.

I've had it unprotected a couple of times. It feels better on the piece of course but I don't enjoy it as much because I have this scare at the back of my mind that I could walk away with something..........

Are you sure he didn't move in with his girlfriend, she got pregnant and then he shat himself and ran away? Both ways make him a douche but the way you tell it, it makes it sound like his plan all along was to get her pregnant.

What do you guys think about forced sterilisation? Like with mentally handicapped people who are able to have sex but aren't able to look after the children or understand the rammifications? Some families have gone through legal proceedings to get their children sterilised.

Or people with genetic disorders or inheritable diseases (women with HIV in Africa have been forceably sterilised)?

I'm not convinced about the sterilisation of mentally handicapped people; my friend's mum works as a nurse in a home for mentally handicapped people and he agrees with sterilisation because apparantly they have sex (with many sexual partners) and rarely use protection. The women then fall pregnant and the children are taken into care, which upsets everyone involved. I think that if you know that they're having unprotected sex, then why not give them contraception in their daily meds?

The problem is it's a breach of their human rights because it's almost sub human but I don't agree nor disagree. Is it not better to find how to cure these diseases right back at the genetic stage rather than stop them from having babies?

I think something needs to be done until we find a solution to the biological problem, whatever the means, teach them what a condom is for example...

Had a few pregnancy scares throughout my dating adventures, plus the actual pregnancy disaster/tragedy with my wife that most of you know about.

As far as sterilization goes, there was a guy in new york who proposed a bill or some god damned thing that would offer cash incentives for women well below the poverty line with more than two children to have their tubes tied. I think one of the stipulations was that they also had to be receiving more than one type of government assistance. People lost their shit. I thought it was a great idea.

I've also been monitoring the male birth control studies for years. Most interesting.

I've never had a pregnancy scare that I know of. It's entirely possible considering how little I've used condoms, but no one's ever said "hey, here's your kid, bye!"

I did know a girl who wanted to get pregnant and was practically begging me to help her, get married, all that. I had clearly told her I didn't want to be a father though. A couple years later she won the lottery. Oh well, being a parent is hard work, even if I never had to worry about working another day for the rest of my life.

If I ever have the misfortune of knocking a girl up then I will have the decency to stay with her since for my own reasons I wouldn't be happy with an abortion (of course unless she wanted one then we'd need to discuss it) but life would be hard and my career of the future would likely be ruined. But I don't think that such a thing is gonna happen to me.

Obviously I won't ever been having my own children the "natural" way. But me and my boyfriend have said that if we are together long enough then we would like to have a family one day. That family consisting of a Dodge Challenger SRT8 and a Hummer H3. Our dream cars
