Ballistic Publishing have announced The Art of Oddworld Inhabitants: The First Ten Years, The Art of the Oddworld Universe 1994 - 2004, displaying artwork from the Oddworld Inhabitants team from their foundation in 1994 to the present day, with work spanning all four major projects to date. Lorne comments: "Since Sherry McKenna and I founded Oddworld Inhabitants back in 1994, we have eagerly anticipated the moment when a densely packed and finely printed ‘Art of Oddworld’ book would find life."

The book will be available from Fall/Autumn 2004, and is available to be pre-ordered from the Ballistic Publishing website in August/September. A limited number of numbered and leather-bound volumes will also be available on this date.

Ballistic Publishing, owned by Ballistic Media, sets standards for publishing computer graphics and digital art, and has previously released EXPOSÉ and EXPOSÉ 2 - both of which have featured digital artwork from Oddworld Inhabitants - among other books.

The page features an option to sign up for news on Oddworld Inhabitants and The Art of the Oddworld Universe.

Wow I still wish that some of that stuff could have found its way into Munch, look at that last one...wow. I definately am going to purchase this book when it comes out, or maybe I'll get it for Christmas.

Oh yes I knew this was going to happen awesome find! I am getting my hands on this book to add to my ever so growing collection excuse me Library of art books. And perhaps that last picture will be in ME. Won't that be something. In ways that last picture looks like some of the regions in Stranger.

EDIT: I just noticed something on the last pic... could that maybe... just maybe... be a pic from Munch Exoddus? Just a thought as Abe and munch seem to be on it... and it kinda looks like something important is going on with that statue or whatever it is...

Maybe even sooner if the next games are coming up more fast and that there is more prod art in less time.
But of cource this book has to be a Succes...

my advice:

Tell everyone that is a potential buyer to buy that book! It has to be sold, so we can actually show to OWI that books and other stuff would be buyed if they put it on the market, and thuss... more merchandising for us!

Eeeek, with the forums down for the whole day I had OWI and an email Alf sent me (as part of the Oddworld Fan Club) to rely on! Never the less, this great news! I'll be sure to beg for the limited edition for my birthday, which happens to be in quarter four of this year

I find the image on the actual book page very interesting, especially the one on the very bottom. After conversing with Dipstikk, we came to the conclusion that Munch, Abe and another Mudokon wearing a hat were at the bottom of the image (though it was mainly Dipstikk and his Artist's eye that spotted them, I just managed to confirm it by enlarging the picture ). Yet, the image is indeed a different style to the normal Oddworld conceptual art.

And Alcar... why did you need to zoom in on that pic to see Abe and munch where on it? I can see that with the naked eye (exept munch, I had to look a tad harder for him )

Perhaps the emails are sent out in batches. Could depend on how many emails they have to send, and how fast the server processor and internet connection are. Hopefully you'll recieve it soon

Sometimes my eyes are very good at seeing tiny things. Other times, that is not the case. I thought they were humans before Dipstikk corrected me

I saw it where Leonard typed after his speech. ok, it was a wide image, it had Blizzerz on the left hand side, exacly the same pose as this image.( The one Xav first post on this thread)

Then it had lots of those outlaws and minoins at the back ground with there guns, but there were kinda repetive. A whole army, and in the back ground it had buldings wich i believe is a town, and it was in flames, towards to the right side.The sky was a yellowish/orange colour. And on the left had mountians/cliffs.
