Bethesda started off quite strong. DOOM seems like it's going to be more like the first two games, but they also had a hint of Doom 3's style in it. Interested to see more of it. It was nice to see Dishonored 2 revealed even though it was just a CGI trailer. Interested to see how the two main characters thing works out. Fallout 4's demos were great, already wrote a little about it in the Fallout 4 thread. I didn't care for the Elder Scrolls Online expansion, that card game or Battlecry. Good press conference. Very professional and to-the-point, no screw-ups or technical problems. They didn't really have any major announcements, but not sure if they really needed them either. I liked it.
Now, the other shows:
Microsoft - I'd like to see some old series brought back to life, maybe something from Rare? I hope they announce at least one big new exclusive. Hoping there isn't too much talk about VR etc.
EA - Show me a proper demo of Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, all I want. Star Wars: Battlefront doesn't interest me that much, but I'll gladly watch gameplay of that rather than a million sports games. Continuation to Mass Effect maybe? I personally don't really care about that anymore though...
Ubisoft - No expectations really, maybe reveal a new Rayman game? Or could it finally be the right time to (re-)reveal Beyond Good & Evil 2?!
Sony - Hope they'll show Dark Souls 3 in their conference. Some new big exclusive? I wish they'd bring some beloved PS1 era game series back to life, not necessarily Crash/Spyro, but something special.
Nintendo - I'd like to see a new Kirby game, preferrably for 3DS. Kirby Triple Deluxe was great fun in my opinion. Maybe finally show Starfox? Metroid maybe?
Square Enix - Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, not really anything else.
Bethesda was amazing last night. Fallout 4 HYPE! Doom was a joke though, those melee animations... dear god they looked horrible.
Microsoft - Couldn't care less, don't plan on getting a console anymore so any exclusives aren't interesting to me.
EA - It's EA, I don't buy their shit out of principle. They'll probably come up with some new ways to milk The Sims. Mass Effect 4 is about the only interesting thing they can possibly have this E3. And even that would have to be pretty special after ME3's horrible ending.
Ubisoft - Assassin's Creed. Those games remain interesting to me despite the frequency they are released these days. The Division looked promising last year, let's see how much of the game has been dropped or tuned down to meet deadlines and compare last year's trailer to this year's trailer. (Edit: Called it...)
Sony - No Man's Sky... and maybe (just maybe) The Last of Us 2?
The Doom gameplay was pretty trash though... It was literally just a guy walking in straight lines towards enemies, and then shooting them with the shotgun. There was no consideration to what they were doing, no cover. Just walking and shooting. Run and gun != brainless. In Doom you had to do a fair bit of ducking and dodging to avoid taking damage, where in this demo nothing ever felt like a threat. I'm hoping it was just toned down for the idiot playing. Maybe they wanted to demonstrate the graphical style more? Either way for a game they want focused on "moving fast" that was an underwhelming video.
Also what the fuck was up with the chainsaw section? Does it only do takedowns like that? Sure, if you're walking along in a section where you're confronted with one enemy at a time it's fine... but is it actually useful and meaningful to the gameplay? Would there ever be a reason to pull it out in any other context?
But hey it's id software.
e: Yeah holy fucking shit Shenmue 3 get hyped. I hadn't heard the TLG news, but as someone who will probably never own a PS4 it's hard to get too excited for it. Still, it would be amazing to actually see it finished.

That's Doom though. That's Doom in every single way. Brainless fun.
Sony just blew the others outta the water. Shenmue 3, Last Guardian, FF7 Remake. Fricking incredible. Finally. A reason to keep my PS4!
Looking forward to Nintendo's later today. They always announce good stuff
No, but it isn't. There's so much more to the original Doom and Quake games than walking in a straight line shooting things. That's why I could never finish them when I was 6. Like I said, it didn't look like there was any real danger to the player at any point in that demo.
Because it's either early in development and/or a lot more entertaining having the character killing endless monsters with glorious gore. It looks good regardless.
I skipped Ubisoft. Oops. Nothing that special really. I did like how Ubisoft are embracing social media by having all of the mean and hateful tweets being read out by the devs. It was pretty funny.
Anyway. These are the games that interested me.
Trey and Matt give the impression that they honestly give two fucks about Video Games, but fuck it. Let's have another.
This was announced by a real life pirate on stage. He was well into it.
Also. I know Aisha has become a staple of Ubisoft. But I cannot stand her. She makes everything so fucking awkward and she sounds like an over excited Chihuahua.
Fallout 4 impressed me, as did Doom. Never cared for either til now. Console modding has me excited.
The only thing that made my jaw drop was a 2 second clip during sony's montage of SuperSonic Acrobatic Rocket powered battle cars 2. Loved the first game to death.
I enjoyed the Nintendo World championship as well. Good to see Trihex and Cosmo get so far.

Patience is a virtue.
The most underwhelming Nintendo E3 of all time. And it started off so strong as well. Star Fox looks bloody cool. As does Mario Maker. But that was it.
That new Metroid game looks like a fucking ORIGINAL DS game and we got 2 Animal Crossing games which aren't actually real Animal Crossing games. And I'm bloody sick to death of Mario this, Mario that. I get it's the 30th anniversary. But holy crap.
I might have to get a PS4 to play Horizon. I just hope it doesn't depend on native American sterotypes as much as the trailer suggests, that would be quite problematic.
Also, the bird at the end is crap. Everything else adopted much more unique forms than that.
But why post a gameplay video that isn't indicative of the final gameplay?
Teaser, not trailer. In-engine footage, not gameplay video. They're different.
EDIT: Okay, they titled it a gameplay trailer, so I'll have to eat my words somewhat. But I'll just say that their PR guys are stupid at labelling videos rather than me being wrong!
Also, how many times has Doom been rebooted now?
