Happy The Rule of the Inventory

Okay, I think I've got a half decent well thought out rule here...

CHARACTER INVENTORY
Okay, each character can carry a limitted amount of items in there inventory. This includes anything from weapons to rocks. The amount you can carry depends on your species:

NORMAL SPECIES
These are your basic characters that most RPGers use

Gluckons: 10 items
Big Bros: 9 items
Vykkers: 9 items
Sligs: 8 items
Interns: 8 items
Mudokins: 7 items
Gabbits: 7 items

SPECIAL CHARACTERS
These are more on the wildlife side and new species

Elums: 4 items
Scrabs: 3 items
Paramites: 3 items
Meeches: 3 items
Meeps: 3 items
Slogs: 2 items
Sloggies: 1 item
Ratz: 1 item
Fuzzles: 1 item

New/Created Species: 8 items (if your 'created' species is actually a crossbreed see crossbreeds)

CONCERNING CROSSBREEDS
If your character is a crossbreed (e.g Mudokin/Scrab) it is not a made up character but a crossbreed. To determine the amount of items the creature is able to carry, compare the two species: Mud - 7items Scrab - 3items. The species with the most amount is your end result. So in this case, The Mud/Scrab can carry 7 items.

PETS
Okay. Your character can either have a pet or (in the case that u ARE a pet) an owner. Owners or pets can carry additional items and help you during your RPGing... as in you can control your pet/owner (unless you've decided that your pet/owner will be another RPGer). You may have up to two pets but only one owner. Here are the rules for having a pet/owner

OWNER: Glukkons, Vykkers, Interns
PETS: N/A

OWNER: Sligs, Big Bros, Mudokins, Gabbits, Created, Crossbreeds
PETS: Paramites, Slogs, Sloggies, Ratz, Meeches, Fuzzles, Elums, Meeps

HOW TO SHOW YOUR INVENTORY
An inventory should be at the bottom of your page in Vykkers Labs. Heres an example.

PETS:

Pet 1
Name: Rover
Species: Slog
Owner: (If you have multiple chars on your page) Dude
Age: 4 Slog Years

Pet 2
NO PET 2

INVENTORY:

Dude's Inventory - max items: 8
1) Blitz Packer
2) Stone

Rovers Inventory - max items: 2
1) Bone

It may seem pretty long, but I think its fairly easy to understand. Post your comments here. --FireFrog

Ok, so should we edit our post in Vyyker Labs to include our inventory?

Also, Rex, if I wanted to post a new species what would I have to do? As in a form or something.

Thanks and Cya!

Hmm...

Well until Rex approves my Inventory rule, I suppose we shouldn't really add an inventory to our list...

Also, I've added Elums and Meeps to the special chars list.

Did you guys understand my rules?

Rule of the Shopkeeper

Well seeing as my last rule was a success I decided to make some up on shopkeeping.

OWNING AND RUNNING SHOPS

GETTING A SHOP
First off to get a shop you're gonna' need 10,000 MLA. The price may seem a little high but this is what Rex has decided and if you run it successfully you should earn more than you spend.

Now, as soon as you have 10,000 MLA deduct 10,000 MLA from your character at Vykkers Labs. Then create a post. The topic should look like this:

'Name of Shop Here' - 'Owners Name Here' - Shop

Simple enough, eh? So heres an example of what one would actually look like:

The Weapon Store - Dude, FireFrog - Shop

Well how hard was that? If you want to own a shop with another RPGer then split the cost. For 2 people to own it, the shop will cost 5000 MLA each. You can also do it like this: Person 1 - 6000 MLA, Person 2 - 4000 MLA. So there ya have it. Don't forget, Moolah must also be split between the two of you. Moolah must be split EVENLY with no exceptions.

GETTING STOCK
Well what would be the point of having a shop if you could just stick any old thing in it and make Moolah out of it... No no no!! You've gotta' buy the stock... hehehe!

Buying stock is easy. Soon a topic will be posted on the main page, where Rex and I have created items you are able to purchase. To purchase an item, just deduct the correct Moolah and bingo, you got it. *REX PLZ PM ME TO GET THIS SHOPPING CATALOGUE THING READY*

Now to show your stock in your shop type it out like this:

'Name of Item' - 'Class' - 'Your Price' - 'Stock Left'
*Insert Description of Item here*

So for instance:

Blitz Packer - Weapon - 100 MLA - 01 Left
The Blitz Packer is perfect for all your killing needs.

Please remember, you don't have to sell the item at the price you bought it for... sell it at what ever price you wish. Be warned though... not everyone has a stack of Moolah for you!

**IMPORTANT** You may not buy stock and then keep it for you to use. All stock must be put into your shop. A main shop will be set up soon so that you may buy from there. No body will get Moolah from its earnings and their will be infinite stock of everything in it. The prices will be a little high however...
*REX, PLZ PM ME TO SET THIS UP TOO PLZ*

BUYING FROM A SHOP
Again. Simple. Go into a shop, see how what you want. Ask for it in a message and the keeper can either accept or decline selling it to you. If they accept, then deduct your Moolah and add the item to your inventory. If your inventory is full, then delete an item. Shopkeepers add the Moolah to their account and deduct the stock. Be responsible. If the buyer does not have enough Moolah, then don't sell. Here's an example of a post:

CUSTOMER:
Shopkeeper, can I buy 2 Blitz Packers?

SHOPKEEPER:
Yes you may CUSTOMER.

And there you have it. When the main shop is up you wont have to ask for the stuff, you can just deduct Moolah and add the item to your inventory.

PAGE SETUP
Now finally.... how the shop should look. You know how the title should look, so heres what the rest should look like.

!! TITLE OF SHOP HERE !!
~ Owners Name Here ~

*Insert Welcome Message*

'Item Name' - 'Class' - 'Selling Price' - 'Stock Left'
*Insert your custom description of the item here*

*Insert Goodbye Message*

So with all the text... a little something like this:

!! MY SHOP !!
~ Dude ~

Hi, welcome to my shop.

Blitz Packer - Weapon - 75 MLA - 02 Left
This Blitz Packer is brand new! U should like it.

Thanks for visitting my shop. Come again soon.

And there you have it! And remember... the NUMBER 1 RULE is to be truthful with your Moolah. Don't buy something if you don't have the Moolah. Be honest. If anyone is caught faking their Moolah... umm... uh.... REX WILL BEAT YOU UP!!!

This rule brought to you by FIREFROG - God's Greatest Mistake!

Tell me what ya think!

Happy Keeping Track

Well, we need an honest way of keeping track of money and health.

Therefor, I will shortly create a website for us to manage shops, stats, moolah, and a good form of races.

I will make a little form on their so that you may, in this order:
1. Make a post, say you gain 5 moolah.
2. Quick link to the website...
3. There will be a form to submit your changed moolah, in it you will also include a link to the post that caused the change.
4. I will check whether it is valid and change the site!

Sound good?

Any suggestions for the site should be told through this post.

Thanks!

Post Shop Stuff

You know what? 10,000 MLA is way too much for a shop to cost, so here is what I propose:

-Shops now cost only 500 MLA to start
-Upgrades are 50 MLA each, with an acceleration price of 5 MLA.
They also give 5 extra items, per upgrade.

Up #- Price of Up - Current Max Items
Up 1 - 50 MLA - 10 Max Items
Up 2 - 55 MLA - 15 Max Items
Up 3 - 60 MLA - 20 Max Items
and on...

Cya later!

I'd like to add onto the idea, Shadestorm, if I don't mind.

~~~Add-Ons and Shop Rules~~~
Add-Ons
Vending Machine - If you have one of these, for every ammount of MLA you make at the counter, you get 5% of it at the vending machine! You can increase the percentage by buying more vending machines.
Abes Son, I don't know about Rex, but I don't think the Lizard guys are odd enough.
I mean, they are just lizardmen, nothing weird about 'em.
You gotta have extra appendages, special powers, and strange mental characteristics for it to be accepted as Oddworld Material.
Good effort, but just add weird stuff to em and they won't be so... normal.
Okay, I don't wanna be mean but;
I think that Abe's son's idea is pretty darn Odd.
I mean, from our view, it might be just another lame lizardman,
but I bet in Oddworld,Mudos or whatever you want to call it,
these lizard-creatures are far away from original. Catch the drift?
In short;
Oddworld's normal is Odd to us
and
Our normal is Odd to them
Okay, but this is yet again my opinion...
So don't take it to yourself, kay?
You are being very childish and well... to put it bluntly, stupid.
Shadestorm posted a nice post, a suggestion, he meant nothing by it. And all you guys complain about it.
Abe's Son, Shade didn't know that you had posted so many suggestions and got them rejected. You are being very immature, like I said before.
Wrong, in Oddworld, everything they see is normal to them. But it's odd to us. It's as if they would look at our world and say "That's wierd...". Shadestorm suggested that it should be odd to us, not to them! You want an elephant-man that rides upon a living lightning bolt start living in the human world? Probably not, because it wouldn't be realistic.
Rex Tirano's opinion isn't any better than ours, everyone opinion is the same. Just because she/he has a Moderator Status does not mean that he's better than us in any way.
Abe's Son, we'll just boycott your race. Its not odd enough to us, its just another lizardman, no one wants to see that, they want to see something ODD! From now, I boycott the #12 race.
Post Well...
Darkest, I do think that was a little harsh.
I do however think that in Oddworld, everything should be odd to us. If the theme of Oddworld was to make everything odd in the odd peoples eyes, it'd be another Earth.
Tell ya what though, Abe's Son, I will look through your posts and determine what was odd and what wasn't. Maybe I can give you some suggestions.
Yeah it is, I'm sick of your freakin' complaining and swearing. You don't even have the right to swear, you need a good reason.
Shadestorm was just tryin' to help, and if you think YOU can determine what's odd and what isn't, then you are doing a poor job of it with this "#12" race.
If you aren't going to be up to standards, then no one will use it. So why bother? To get moolah?
Rex, this moolah thing is getting too out of hand. People like Abe's Son will make unoriginal ideas just to get moolah, they are taking control of you.
Battle Mode
If this rule is accepted, then it will be possible to kill other characters in combat. Don't reject it right now, read on!
***
COMBAT RULES
When you fight another creature, you enter battle mode. You start with an easy 14x8 grid.
-------------------------
-------------------------
-------------------------
-------------------------
-------------------------
-------------------------
-------------------------
-------------------------
Then, you fill in the enemies and people. Let us say that our fighter is... Keero-Keero (One of FireFrog's Characters) and that he is fighting... 3 Wild Paramites! The characters and enemies are represented by easy abbreviation.
-------------------------
-------------------------
------------WP---------
----WP---------WP----
-------------------------
----------KK------------
-------------------------
-------------------------
Now, you fill in trees, rocks, rivers... all the inanimate objects!
-------T-T-T-T-----R---
------T-T-T-T-T-T-T----
------------WP---------
----WP---------WP----
-------------------------
--T-T-T--KK--------T-T
-----T-----------R------
--R-R---------T-T-T-T-
Now you have a battle map, congradulations!
Next step is to get some steps... Based off of Shadestorm's Character Form, we can get some stats. These not may be true, but it will work for this example.
Keero-Keero
Max Health: 20
Max Energy: 15
Maybe someday, we'll have more stats. Fighting Abilities, Combat Moves and such, but now all we have are Weapons and Items...
Now, I invent something new. Natural Damage! This is the damage without a weapon. Some low-damage creatures are given extra energy to make up for their weakness.
Gluckons
0 - 2 Damage
+11 Energy
Big Bros
7 - 13 Damage
-7 Energy
Vykkers
1 - 2 Damage
+9 Energy
Sligs
3 - 7 Damage
+3 Energy
Interns
2 - 8 Damage
+3 Energy
Mudokons
4 - 6 Damage
+3 Energy
Gabbits
1 - 2 Damage
+9 Energy
Elums
5 - 11 Damage
-3 Energy
Scrabs
5 - 14 Damage
-6 Energy
Paramites
3 - 11 Damage
-1 Energy
Meeches
4 - 13 Damage
-4 Energy
Meeps
0 - 1 Damage
+13 Energy
Slogs
3 - 6 Damage
+4 Energy
Sloggies
1 - 6 Damage
+6 Energy
Ratz
0 - 1 Damage
+13 Energy
Fuzzles
2 - 12 Damage
-1 Energy
OK! Each character, pet, owner, or otherwise, gets 5 Action Points. In battle, you can use up Action Points in different ways.
Move - Costs one point, moves you up or down one row or two dashes to the left or right.
Attack - Matters what weapons you use, but if it is a natural weapon, then each attack takes 3 Action Points.
Cast Spell or Use Ability - 5 Action Points
Defend - Defends from any melee attack, cuts 50% of the damage off. Uses the rest of Action Points.
Here is our battle!
***
Keero-Keero moves up two. -2 Action Points
Keero-Keero attacks the WP in front of him. -3 Action Points
Defend
***
That is his move. The owner of the RPG will do the other characters. The Battle Master, as he call him, must be fair. It must not be a difficult battle, but not too easy. Act... Logical.
***
Wild Paramite attacks KK 2 times. -6 Action Points
Wild Paramite moves 2 times right and attacks KK and then Defends. -6 Action Points
Wild Paramite moves 2 times to the left and attacks KK, then defends. -6 Action Points
***
Ok... now we need to do some Math. Lets say the Wild Paramites have these stats...
Health Max: 15
Energy Max: 4
3 - 11 Damage
Keero-Keero has attacked, so, he roll a dice or number wheel, I have a number wheel right here. 1 out of 10. 1 is 3 and 8 is 11, if I get a 9 or 10 I spin again.
I get a 1, so Keero Keero does 3 Damage to the first Paramite. However, we need to learn something about accuracy.
***Accuracy***
This is the chance to hit. With your fists or natural weapon, you have a 70% chance to hit! Its out of a 100, so I can use a 10-numbered spinning wheel to determine if they hit!
The number must be as much or more than that percent rounded up. I rolled a 7, which is within 70% chance. Keero-Keero hits!
***Back to the Battle***
Keero-Keero does 3 damage!
Wild Paramite
Health: 12
Energy: 3
You'll notice that the Energy was taken away also, not from a spell, but because the Wild Paramite was attacked. Every time someone is attacked, they lose 50% of the Damage done to then, rounded down. 3 * 50% is 1.3, rounded down is 1.
When someone loses all of their Energy, they lose 2 extra damage per attack done to them.
Wild Paramite Attack
They deal: 3... 11... and 10... for a grand total of 24 damage. Each one hit within their accuracy! So what happens to Keero-Keero?
Keero-Keero's Health is 20... so 20 - 24 = -4... Keero-Keero has died.
Now that you know how Battle Works without weapons, it brings me to the next fact, Death and Ressurection.
***Death and Ressurection***
Keero-Keero has gone to the great beyond, but it's ok! Say Krezz comes along and finds his body. You must find a Ressurection Shrine, the ones that are in Oddworld, and bring him back with Spooce. How much spooce? Here is the formula.
(Max Health + Max Energy)*0.8 rounded to the nearest 5 or 0.
Keero-Keero's Ressurection Price = 20 Energy
So, Krezz uses 20 Energy and brings Keero-Keero back!
To be Continued...
Some Weapon Ideas
Blitz Packer
2 – 9 damage, Unlimited Range, +25% accuracy, 5 spt, 100 max ammo
6 – 7 melee damage, Melee, +45% accuracy, 2 spt,
Laser Damage
The Blitz Packer is a laser-based weapon good for any odd character, quick fire, and almost unlimited range. Comes with a secondary melee attack. Laser Damage is good against Heavy Armor and Fortified Armor.
Hacker
7 – 11 damage, Melee, +40% accuracy, 2 spt
4 – 11 ranged damage, 3 range, +20% accuracy, 1 spt
Slicing Damage
The Hacker is a metal weapon used in melee combat. Good damage and comes with a secondary ranged attack in which you can throw the blade. Slicing damage is good against Small Armor and Normal Armor.
Snuzi
4 – 8 damage, Unlimited Range, 35% accuracy, 3 spt, 60 max ammo
6 – 9 melee damage, Melee, +45% accuracy, 1 spt
Laser Damage
1st attack has 50% chance per shot to put its victim asleep for 5 – 15 turns.
The Snuzi is a great weapon for those who don’t want to necessarily kill a victim. It comes with unlimited range and it puts victims to sleep. It does laser damage, which is good against Heavy Armor and Fortified Armor. It comes with two modes, Lethal and Non-Lethal Mode. Lethal Mode includes the damage, while Non-Lethal Mode discuses the damage and just does the snoozing effect. The Lethal Mode still comes with the snoozing effect.
Tomahawk
9 – 12 damage, melee, +50% accuracy, 2 spt
7 – 26 damage, 3 range, +15% accuracy, 1 spt, 1 max ammo
Bashing and Magical Damage, +5 Energy Max
The Tomahawk is a great high-damage melee weapon, easy to hit the enemy. It also comes with a secondary attack, which includes throwing the tomahawk orb at the enemy, causing it to explode. This does Bashing Damage, very good against Small Armor. Magical Damage is good against Fortified Armor and Normal Armor. This also boosts your energy max, letting you cast more spells and abilities.
Spoocebow
2 – 6 damage, 6 range, +45% accuracy, 8 spt, 250 max ammo
Magical and Piercing Damage, +5 Energy Max
The Spoocebow is an accurate, fast firing magical weapon of doom. It is a very good weapon for any oddworld inhabitant. Its Magical Damage is good against Fortified Armor and Normal Armor, and its Piercing Damage is very good against Heavy Armor.
***Factors of Weapons***
The damage is, of course, the damage it does.
The range is how far it goes. If the range is, for example, 3, then the you can hit anything 3 rows up or below you in the battle map, and 6 dashes away to the left or right. If you want to shoot diagonal, then get a Battle Master to approve it.
The accuracy is the chance you hit or miss. With your fists, you have 70% to hit, but with weapons, its a whole 'nother story. Maybe someday you'll be able to have a Dexterity or Agility Level you can invest in that boosts your accuracy. But now, its just +20% by yourself, plus the accuracy of the weapon.
SPT is Shot's per Turn
The Spoocebow can go 8 shots per turn, so, that is 8/3, so you can shoot pretty much 3 times every time you use 3 Action Points to attack. Each shot has it's own accuracy chance and random damage.
The stats underneath the first line are for a secondary attack, which sometimes uses up the weapon itself! Beware of wasting your weapon if you throw it!
Max Ammo is how much ammo the weapon can hold. Blitz Packerz use Blitz, which can be bought fairly cheap in large quantities. Spoocebows, however, use Spooce!
