Oddworld Greeters in 3D!

How many want to see Greeters make a come back?

Well I do because I thought they were just really cool for Oddworld.

They were just very strange security devices. Of all the things that were in AE that made the game flow with oddness it was the Greeters. I love how they mimic Slig voices. They were rather disturbing and funny at the same time.

Imagine playing with them in 3D for future games like OW4 and ME. That would be cool and Munch would be able to control Greeters. Think how fun that would be.

So I am hopeing the return of the Greeters how about you?

Sadly, I never purchased AE when I had the chance, so I don't really get what greeters are. I mean, I have seen the pictures and I know their "backstory" but what do they do if you bump into one or they catch you or something. Like, do they have any weapons or do they just alert sligs who come shoot you?

Greeterz have morion trackers... Like the ones in the StockYards in AO... When you walk through it, they sense you, and start chasing the movement (you). When they get to you, they use their only weapon... They zap you...

I wonder how they could be included in 3D gameplay, especially with their movement captors...

Maybe the motion detectors could spin around the greeter in circular fashion? That could work. And as the motion detectors would move around the Greeter itself, it would kind of expand outwards and then retract inwards. Imagine a whole small army of these things surounding these big mine fields. Not only you have the mines to worry about but the Greeters that are moveing in batween them. Say these Greeters are programed to menuver inbatween mines sort of like smart Greeters. Sound hard? You betcha! Talk about a good Oddworld styal challenge for ya ya know? Because as soon as you move in the beam you not only get zaped but also set off a chain reaction of explosions killing say you and Mudokin Scrubs in the process. I like it! Saveing Mudokins out of that would be tricky.

OW YEAH !!!

I like difficult parts! And I like to be careful (stealth vs heavy action) too. So that would be a great scenario. 3D motion detectors combined with minefield. Love it.

That is a realy good idee PA, I think it can be very nice to play and fesible... even if I'm not sure we will see something like that in the next game the idea is very good!

Wow, that sounds incredibly intimidating and difficult. The motion detectors the Greeters use are actually projections of adverts, which are presumably flat. However, I guess they could have been adapted by the Vykkers, or perhaps just have a ring of adverts surrounding the Greeter as it trundles along.

yes maybe, and are you sure we will not see others breweries?
anyway greeters are not exclusive to the brewery, Molluck could have sell some to others factories...

I think Oddworld technology is strictly built by Vykkers. They have to be. So I would imagine that many establishments not all but some use Greetors.

Even though we never saw some in Rupture Farms or the places in Munch I think they are used greatly throughout the Magog.

They werent strictly used in the Brewery though because there were some in the Slig Barrecks. Remember the secret area over in Necrum before you enter into the Mudanchee Valts? Well the secret area is part of the Slig Barrecks and it has a Greeter in there, plus when you go in the Slig Barrecks executive office before you possess Dripik there is like two Greeters in there aswell. That and there are some at the Feeco Depot too when you drop down to go to the Feeco excutive office and also there is some when you go to the train that leads to Saul Storm Brewery and that is all in The Feeco Depot.

So they are scattered all over the place. Maybe the Greeter is no longer in production because they are advirtiseing PR machines gone wrong. which means where ever you find one it is a rare case. So there would be only a selected few scattered in different locations across Mudos. And since there is more than one Saul Storm Brewery the Glukkons that run it I bet must release Geeters out of their establishment so that they can advirtise Saul Storm Brew all over Mudos and follow Mudokins everywhere. Its all in the name cheap advirtisement pretty much.

sorry but Bonewerkz, FeeCo. Depot and Slig Barraks are part of the Brewery's organisation. But you must be right on that one

I don't think they are. Except for Bonewerkz. Feeco. goes to a lot of places that have nothing to do with the Brewery like Rupture Farms and Vykker's Labs. And I imagine the Slig Barracks would be a training place for sligs before sending them off to other installations.
