What happened to the Oddworld we all know and loved!

I don't know about you but I have been feeling really sick of the cartoonish styal Oddworld since Munch. Munch was great but I really miss the old styal from AE and AO. How about you?

I mean with the comming of OW4 there is promise I have to admit that as I mentioned many times before. But in the mean time its just getting dull. I want new stuff to happen! Ya know?

Is it me or do any of you veterans feel the same as I do? Who are we kidding our selves? I feel we are just acting out the enjoyment of Munch. It was fun while it lasted but now its picking up dust like AO and AE. And with Oddworld being 3D now that is so exciting because I imagine it playing it like the old styal only in 3D. I want new stuff to come soon how about all of you? Is that not too much to ask? Get rid of the old and bring in the new. Thats what I say. Oh who am I kidding? We won't know anything up until it comes out sheesh!

Sorry if I sound negative but thats just the way I feel right now. I am just bored with Munch out of my mind. Ya know? we really need new stuff. This place is just dead!

i kno...it's a crime to take such a good game and turn into a health bar, gunned low, short, easy 3d game with tiny facilities!

this is the first time i ever thought i'de get mad at OWI! we can only prey the next game ill be better...according to the gossip it will be

the only thing i liked about the AO and AE 2 dimensional world was just OrIgInAl, the 3D munch and hand of odd (i think) is better, in years to come oddworld quintology will improve

The 2D did look good before MO was released. That was even bigger, if they made another oddworld game that was 2D, it wouldn't be that big, just a little summary for you, heh

sweet mother of odd, i hope so! MO sucked man! sure they introduced new things we were all hoping for but we didn't get what was promised....we were supposed to see sam and shrink again!

ps: i think one reason why people hated MO cause there were no surprises, OWI was too open to the public

If its effecting your life so much and your getting "tired" and "bored" then you really should get a new life, one that doesnt center so much around games...

whatever OWI is doing it must be worthwhile to keep us hangin on the edge here for this long....but i'm sure the next game will be the best yet otherwise they're too slow

i hope lorne wasn't tellin' us a lie to please us by saying "the next will steer more in an AE direction" if this a farce i'll go to oddworld studios myself and make corrections

The intro, introductory thingy of Humphrey and Irwin and the bad ending were all very dark. And very well done. I think you should be able to pause the FMV sequences and possibly rewind them. Also the AE Gamespeak introductory thing (were you see the characters and hear them speak and such) should be in the next game. But you can only see more characters by completing certain areas, so it doesnt spoil the new characters that you may meet and control. Obviously Sligs, Big Bro Sligs and previous game characters will be there from the start...

What I am hopeing for maybe not the next game but in the future the near future that is, is to play the game just the way you would see it in FMV's.

After watching the game again and watching the Gamespeak with Munch i realised he is more aggressive than Abe when he orders an attack. It is for this reason alone i want/think Munch will turn evil in the future games. I think he gets abit pissed off with the Vykkers and such and snaps, going forth on a spree of killingness whilst Abe remains all Budda-esque and says "No, dont kill...no, bad, stop, bad!!" or something like that. But Munch doesnt listen and kills many...

Hmmm, maybe not. I could imagine him slowly turning badder though...

actually they were worse cause they were to busy with the 3d part of the game so they had less time to do the FMV sequences......

example: in the gabbiar auction the gluks in the back were cheaply made 3d models from the game.....they were too busy with actual gaming to add a few more gluks...how lazy

Compared to the Quake3 engine or Half Life, MO is amazing! Too bad there isn't anyway to make fan based levels for ALIVE, but I imagine the scripting requirements are formidable. I think 3D opened up a world of bugs, but MO did extremely well!!!

Rumors are Doom 3 can't do water!!!

Maybe there were time constraints, maybe the Munch & Queen Lungs Scene was too gross, sick and/or twisted for XBox execs???

I too bought the Xbox for Oddworld alone, am praying for online and fan created mini quests!!!!

I don't have high definition TV so XBox was a bit of a burn. I do have big hands so love that control. Otherwise I prefer PS2 & Gamecube's game selection, what games (besides Halo grrrr) was I suppose to buy a XBox to play??? *G*

Had hoped that the XBox harddrive was going to be for something other than storing music files/saved games, BIG disappointment that MS is not interested in fan based game modding *sigh*

Calm down, MO was rushed for the Xbox release after being re-built from the ground up from the PS2 hardware. MO was just one game, Oddworld isn't changing. I'm sure when you first played MO you loved it, but now your just being picky...

Are you blind? Have you even seen the FMV's in MO? They are just as good as anything Pixar has made. And the gluks in the auction sequence were not the ones from in-game. I thought it was pretty obvious that the FMV's were at least twice as good looking. Maybe you should take another look.
