Actually, joking aside, I'd say we're way more straightforward now with things. A little teaser and then - hello - it's available to buy/pre-order/discuss/dissect/complain about.

I like what some people did for April fools this year. Ross Scott, a youtuber, has a series his fans want badly and he released the first full episode on the 1st. Everyone thought it was a troll, but it increased his view count a lot. Same with the guys at Rick and Morty.
