Are you all seeing something I'm not? Aren't these the cards we'd seen before from the GDC thread and others? They were linked to from there I think, but I'm not seeing anything we didn't already have knowledge of. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It would be cool but don't get your hopes up. Personally I am surprised and amazed every time I get something from them (whether its a card or some stickers from a past GDC). I mean, how many companies would go to the effort and expense of sending all its fans a christmas card? That's why I love OWI and want to bear Lorne Lanning's children. Ok, so that may take an operation or two and some intensive hormone therapy but it would be worth it.

We dunno what one is yet, though so far it has been widely assumed it is the warthog/slog mixture type creature that is seen both on the old Oddworld Logo and on the X-Factor video.

There's a large one in front of the one we might want to assume is Tiny, and a smaller one next to the Scuba Toad.

So we still have three creatures at the background that are yet remain a mystery. Also we have the Octigy famly,and possibley the mudokns and that vykker that we saw on the X-Factor.

I emailed Alf about the muds and Octigy, but forgot about the vykker.

Those salmanders. i think the one with the hat is a leader or some sort. The other one is probalty a assisant.Thats what i bellieve.

I doubt Sligs, Mudokon or Vykkers will appear in Stranger. I think they were used to stand in for other characters - the Mudokons for the salamanders, the Sligs for the orcs. As for the Vykkers, well, there was an airship that looked reasonably Vykker-esque in design in those production images, butthe Vykkers in the storyboarding might have been standing in for the Clakker that hands Stranger his Moolah. Anyone notice that Meagly McGraw's card has the same pigeonholed background?

True, but they have said they're using a fresh cast, which would indicate they're not going to use the more familiar characters overly - which means I doubt we'll be seeing an entire field of Sligs. The Mudokon town might drift by uneventfully, and one Vykker isn't going to significantly taint the new cast, so who knows.

Anyway...maybe the entire field of sligs was just a demonstration of OWI's new graphic engine. Like a short demo to show Ed Fries so that he knows what the CG looks like. Companies do that all the time.
