Well, bisexuality is a marvellous thing, isn't it? That's, like, the ideal.

Mod Edit: this thread has been taken out of the Tell the Board Your Vital Stats one to become a seperate discussion.

I suppose it'd be ideal if it were attainable. I don't believe in bisexuality, as everyone I've known to be bisexual has eventually turned out gay - I believe it is a safe stepping stone until one is ready to fully come out of the closest.

No doubt I'll now get responses from a few members who are convinced they are bisexual, and therefore think they put to shame my opinion. Just wait a few years guys, you're all the same, you'll turn out just as fully-fledged gay

Bisexuality is kind of weird. Well I shouldn't have much a say because, in my area if your gay you're pretty much considered a full fledged freak.

I don't believe in bisexuality either. Notice, that you never see any bisexual adults. By a certain age, they stop experimenting, and decide on which gender they prefer. Bisexuality is like a "trial period" of sorts.

No doubt indeed, and I'm gonna have to pull a Dino here.

Me = bi = bi for rong time. Admittedly, girl to boyfriend ratio is 1:3. But I dont see myself stopping being attracted to muffies.

I think you're gonna win though, as its a common trait and OWFers have this thing about copying and pasting opinions.

So I guess you can pretty much be Bi-sexual until your married, or if in some weird way or another, you can have multiple wives/husbands.
Or maybe that day of marriage won't come and you get to be a freelancing Bi for the rest of your lives!

somewhat on-topic: and way to go Artos for keeping this thread on track... Well, the on-topic side of the track.

Bisexuality... is a very cheap way of saying 'ZOMG I DUNNO WHERE MY EMOTIONS WENT!'. Like many have said, it's a bridge between being straight and being gay and usually resides in teenagers who dunno what's happening to them. By definition, as a bi person, you'd have to like both genders equally in general. What happens 99% of the time is that the person swings more to the gay side and leaves the straight side all together or makes very tiny references to it every once in a while. Men and women are SO different in terms of emotions and behavior that it's IMPOSSIBLE for a human mind to be able to like BOTH. It might seem to be possible while being a teenager, but thats only because your entire body is screwing up, including your brain. You'll swing to one specific side eventually, always, no exceptions.

Everyone who says this is coming from a position of ignorance. Try actually meeting a bisexual person and talking to them about it. They have no doubts. They are comfortable being who they are. They are merely physically attracted to both sexes.

I don't understand why that is so hard to get. There are people who are attracted to men, people who are attracted to women, people who are attracted to shoes and tigers and umbrellas. Why shouldn't there be people who are a bit more general in their outlook and are attracted to more than one group?

EDIT: Seperated this into a seperate thread.

I was just thinking that, I don't understand why (or how) people are denying the existence of bisexual people. It confuses me.

In regards to Alcar's post, it seems kind of split with my friends as to what they end up being. I've known quite a few bisexuals, some have decided to stick with being straight, others have decided to stick with being gay. Then there's the small amount of people that seem to be sticking with being bisexual.
Most bisexuals do seem to chose eventually but some do stick with bisexuality.

I'm not saying it doesn't exists, just saying that it's not a lifelong thing and that you'll always urge for one of the two more and not both equally.

Well in order to choose a person to settle down with, they have to make a decision on whether or not they're ready to stick with that person permanently. Meaning that, they would have to choose the particular gender of this person over the other.

You can be bi and get into a committed relationship.

Choosing one person to settle down with doesn't mean that you have chosen to stick with one or the other sexuality. It does (if all goes well in the relationship) mean that you have chosen to stick with one gender. Mainly because most individuals are only capable of being one gender.

And if they commit to one person of a particular gender and the relationship fails, there's nothing stopping them from having a relationship with someone of the other gender.

Maybe not, but no-one can have a 50-50 liking for both genders. Every single bi person will sway one way or the other, usually the way of the same sex.
Also, after being in a relationship with a man for 4 years I would be very surprised if the bi person would suddenly come home with a girl and promptly be fine with that. The differences between the two genders are just to big to simply say: "Hm... today I'll have meatsack on a stick and tommorow I'll have the fishy tunnels..." That was a joke reference to boy/girl, for those who did not understand that.
It's different in terms of behavior, in terms of sex, in terms of chemistry. Eventually you'll sway one way or the other, develop a better liking for one over the other. And what some people seem to confuse is that having SEX with both genders is something entirely different then being attracted to both genders. Having sex with both genders doesn't have anything to do with being bi, that's just being open minded.

I agree with everything you just said. But just because someone is 60% attracted to males and 40% to females doesn't necessarily mean he's going to end up with a male.
