I got this in a Humble Bundle a while back. The levels are too long to have no checkpoints.

They have checkpoint on the difficulty levels below the highest. At least that's what I have heard, I've never tried other levels.

I already have Super Meat Boy. The normal levels are kinda easy but I guess the Dark World (or whatever it's called) ones are pretty tough. Its levels are interesting and it can be beaten with skill, though, whereas B.TR's are just monotonous and to win you have to just pay close attention until the level is over.

No checkpoints annoys me too. Not because I think it should have checkpoints, but because the levels themselves do not lend themselves well to a checkpointless system. More than once I've gone cross-eyed with boredom passing simple jumping bits followed by a tricky manoeuvre at the end. Or the same sequence repeated four or five times.

I love this game (I've only just started playing), but if the levels get much worse I can see myself ragequitting.

Man, this game is pretty fun, but it is really frustrating. What saved me from going completely apeshit was probably the cool music that builds up as the levels progress.

I got it a while back and I don't really like it. Pretty much what everyones said, Too frustrating with the lack of checkpoints. It does have cool visuals and soundtrack though.

I prefer BIT.TRIP BEAT because it's really challenging but not as annoying.
