I guess they weren't planning to get used to kickstarter. They went that way, because PnC games would be (in their opinion) too risky decision to put their money in. And, as it seems it's not that risky after all, they'll do other PnC projects traditional way.

I am very happy to be an investor with no return other than the finished product once, or maybe even twice, but at some point we would have to ask why they don't just go public, and allow us to buy stocks so that when we make an investment in their company we will actually get something out of it.

I see nothing against paying for kickstarter if I get the game (being made and on my account) as a reward (it's probably going to cost $15 anyway, so really, what's the deal?)
