Comic Maker Wanted for Official OWF Business; Apply Within

A couple of years ago, Laser started a thread called 'Mod Survivor Island' in which the names of OWF's mods and admins were put in a list, and each day members could give a point to one mod and take a point off of another; when a mod had no points left, they fell out of the 'competition' and points reset for the next round.

Back then I had oodles of free time and far too much imagination, so I started making comics for the thread, just to be funny, ya know, and to demonstrate daily life on Mod Survivor Island, as well as showing how each mod was removed from the island.

The next year MSI 2 arrived but this time round I didn't have the free time to make any comics, plus I'd completely run out of ideas.

So this year, MSI 3 is set to start, and since I still don't have any fresh ideas or time, I've been asked by our dear admins to offer the job of Official MSI Comic Artist to anyone who happens to be interested.

You don't have to be a great artist (hey, I'm not) and your comics don't have to be anything like the ones I did (though you can copy them if you really want to).
You DO have to be able to dedicate a certain amount of time and effort to get the things done, sometimes at rather short notice 'cus sometimes the votes can be very close and it's not obvious who's going to lose until they've lost. So you might want to choose a style you can use quickly and easily.

Your wages will be the tons of rep you'll probably get for your efforts (hey, it worked for me!)

If you're interested in taking the job, you can apply by drawing a picture of the mods who'll probably be appearing on the island this time round; draw them on an island in the style you would probably use and post it here. Then I'll coerce the other mods into choosing their favourite to take on the job.

Would the drawings have to be them or how we think they look? Also is it all right if the pictures are black and white since I can draw well in pen but hate colouring.

MM, if you want to apply, do as I say in the first post and draw a picture of the mods on an island as you'd draw them in the comic and post it here!

I'd love to, but I live at home and my time on the computer is limited by my mother. I could probably convince her to let me on if I explained I'd made an agreement to do something, though.

How often was it last time that a mod was removed/evicted? I could probably draw one in a day (depends on the style I use), but I couldn't do that most days.

How many points do the mods start with? And do you want traditional or digital? IIRC yours were the latter, and that is quicker (sometimes) and doesn't require a scanner, so I'll probably do that...

I'll work on a digital image now, but the trouble is I don't know some of the mods so well - let's see...

Ajiellyn - don't know them at all. Though... did they make the Furcadia dream?
Alcar - well, obviously he's Alcar...
Bullet Magnet - he's not on very often, so I don't know him that well either.
Cloverfield - never even heard of him...
Hobo - no avatar, short posts that don't end in punctuation... and crazy hair, I think?
Max the Mug - knows everything, or at least is good at making something up if he doesn't
Nate - comes from Melbourne, which isn't in Australia no matter what the Victorians think
Splat - is you, writes the longest fanfic ever created by man or otherwise
Xavier - gave me an infraction so I don't like him

Is this enough to make the comics of them? If not, I'll wait until next year when I know them better.

As I say, you can do them in whatever style and method you want, and there's usually about a week between each eviction, sometimes less or more. I used to do one extra in between each eviction.

Aji - She is an FC mod, a bit of a lurker especially now as she has so little free time. She made the Dream and the fanfiction library which proved a good route to promotion.
Alcar is the drunken head of the forums.
Bullet Magnet - used to be online a lot. He used to have the highest rep of any member, too.
Cloverfield - Originally called Abe Babe, she was one of the three original admins (with Alcar and Sydney) and designed all the forum skins. She's now rarely here and she likes Final Fantasy. She actually wasn't included in MSI 2 because of her obscurity, so she might not be in this one either.
Hobo is a trouble-making hobo.
Max the Mug is generally considered the most Oddworld-knowledgeable person alive not actually working for OWI.
Nate is calm and reasonable and gets things done.
Splat is in charge of the geekiest part of OWF and hopes to become a novelist one day.
Xavier is best known in my mind for having had a mudokon skull and crossed bones avatar for most of the time since I joined, but you may have your own perspective of him.

@Spl@: I was fairly sure Ajiellyn was a she but couldn't be bothered checking. As for Cloverfield, I used 'he' because I had no idea and usually use 'he' as the generic.

Apart from Agiellyn, BM and Cloverfield, that's pretty much how I had you all in my head. And, er, that's exactly how I think of Xavier.

Right apart from Cloverfield and Ajiellyn* - they were the other way around. Cloverfield has her technicolour OWF skin dress and a paintbrush, Aji is mysterious and speaks in computer language.

*I should start leaning to spell that now rather than when I'm halfway through a comic
